Why does religion condemn astrologers if the 3 men that offered gifts to Jesus at his birth were magicians and star readers?

Look, Chopper, you either answer the question or you don't. What you said is not directly related to the subject and just because I'm doubting something related to the bIble it doesn't mean I'm an ignorant.
Ignorants are those who just quote from the Bible without analyzing anything...

Desert Siena, what do you made astrology isn't condemned? All the priests I know condemn it on the basis that it's devil's work.

Very good question!!
Most of the bible verses people quote to support their answers to this have to do with instructions to believers to not put more faith in enchanters, diviners, or pharmacological drugs than the believer does in YHVH or Jesus....but these same people put more faith in drugs ALL THE TIME!
They get to pick and choose which parts of the bible to believe and/or follow, and their scheme for such picking is not very logical or predictable.
For those answering that they weren't magicians or were magoi, that's where we get the word magic from anyway!
They were Magi, plural of Mage, being a person who practises Magick!!!

They are called "Magi" from the Latinized form of the Greek word magoi, transliterated from the Persian, for a select sect of priests. In fact the Biblical character Daniel was titled the Chief of the Magi. His unusual career included being a principal administrator in two world empires--the Babylonian and the subsequent Persian Empire. Daniel apparently entrusted a Messianic vision (to be announced in due time by a "star") to a sect of the Magi for its eventual fulfillment. And it wouldn't just be 3 magi, but a whole entourage! Being that they were bearing gifts for a king, no wonder why Herod was pissed off!
As part of their religion, these "priests" paid particular attention to the stars, and gained an international reputation for astrology. At that time astrology was a highly regarded science, giving rise to aspects of mathematics and astronomy. The Bible condemns faith in astrology as futile and misplaced. The heavens do not declare the destiny of man, but the glory of the God who made them. It is God, not the heavens, "who works all things after the counsel of His will."

The Bible condemns witchcraft, spirit worship, magic, idol worship and paganism. It makes no mention of astrology as a sin or form of the occult but refers to it in other ways. The Magi followed the star and seemed to have gifts of divination.
I checked on it and found scripture that might support the use of astrology:
13 All the counsel you have received has only worn you out!
Let your astrologers come forward,
those stargazers who make predictions month by month,
let them save you from what is coming upon you.
2 This is what the LORD says:
"Do not learn the ways of the nations
or be terrified by signs in the sky,
though the nations are terrified by them.

Astrology and magic are things of Satan, the magi from the east were such men, by the way the Bible does not say how many men there were, they were people who believed in the Zodiac, God did not lead these men to his Son, but Satan did in an attempt to kill Jesus. A careful study of the Scriptures reveals this truth.

Magi is plural for mangus. The first/primary defintion of mangus is: A member of the Zoroastrian priestly caste of the Medes and Persians. One of the secondary definitions is a sorcerer; a magician.
Your error was focusing on the secondary definition, a common mistake since Magi is close to "magic".
However, the story is that three wise men came from the east. If they were Magi, they were of the priestly caste of the Zoroasterism faith.
Nothing better to confirm the validity of a new faith than to say priests of one of the older faiths come to honor your new born king.

You must realize that religion is a word and the word was created by man as was the Bible and new testament. Church's passed the word that astrology was wrong and they were right..sort of like politicians. Go with the flow ....

God vs. Science
God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, "Lord, we don't need You anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the beginning."
"Oh, is that so? Tell me," replies God.
"Well," says the scientist, "We can take dirt and form it into the Likeness of You and breathe life into it, thus creating man."
"Well, that's interesting. Show me."
So the scientist bends down to the Earth and starts to mold the soil.
"Oh no, no, no," interrupts God. "Get your own dirt!"

They weren't magicians, who told you that? They were people who studied stars as astronomers not astrologers.

It all depends on if you acknowledge God and His righteousness
(Romans 10:3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

As I understand it, the MAGI were the 'Kingmakers' of the time. Even rulers would get nervous when they appeared.
