Is it something that elder desert people with heat stroke and sexual disfunction kinda made up as they went along?

Define sin, and explain why 99% of the time, sinning has something to do with sex.

Myself, I love sex. Its cool. I wish these religious myth creators didnt have so many fricking sexual hang-ups...at least then stupid religion would be half way tolerable.

There's more than one occasion on which parents will tell their kids that if there is a man they will never see who will reward them if they are good and punish them if they are bad.

Why is this ok? It's still lying. Some adults lie to each other in the same way.

This is your chance to show that scripture and prove it to me?
I have read the bible through and through and never seen one and yet that is what I keep hearing. I do know that they could take the virgin women as wives to keep those people from dieing out.
Or destroying whole tribes. But they were commanded to take care of them and treat them as a wife. Show me where it says rape the women?

I was reading an answer to a question..."altering your body is a mortal sin"..I wonder how valid this is. As far as I am aware, mortal sin is only valid in Catholic churchs. (please, correct me if I am wrong) I can not count how many people in a Catholic mass with peircings and tattoos...so, because you peirced yourself, you are going to hell?? (Since, a mortal sin you can not be forgiven for)

And whatever happened to asking for forgivness and being granted it? Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right...or maybe the whole d*mn system is whack...

Yeah His plan is for the rich, successful and famous people to live a rich, exciting and abundant life while we regular folks who are lacking in everything live a dull boring life. Someone has to be the garbage collector, the maid, the janitor, the factory worker or the soldier right? A sick friend who has been kind, generous and loving all his life died on his bed without his children by his side because they were too busy with their own lives and had no time to visit even though they knew he was dying. That's God's big plan?

It was when I was in hospital, after my second operation.
I wasn’t doing so well.
Burning up badly fans around my bed trying to cool me down.
I felt so exhausted.
After telling the Nurse to leave me be..
And telling the physiotherapist lady I just couldn’t do any movement exercises.

I had one more visitor.
I couldn’t see clearly, I know it was a males face. There was bright light around him so I could see much detail of the face. Only dark facial hair.
No words were spoken, but a question. Are you ready.
I went over my life in a flash.. some points stopped some just continued on..
It to me felt like I was judging my own actions, looking back to see how I had done.
I thought to myself I have so much to learn.
I also had the thought from the being beside me. ( I say being because I don’t know who or what it was).
It said if I continue my whole life would change and I would go though some very hard times. I thought again.. Yes I want to continue from here.. instead

or do the definitions of the words of the Bible miraculously change when you've been "born again"? i was just wondering because over and over Christians opine that you have to be a Christian to understand the Bible.

Faith. Sick concept that has been glorified by society. Basically means believing something without evidence, which ironically, is the perfect reason not to believe something. It's put into a nice shiny little word and can make you follow someone without questioning for yourself if it that someone is right because you have faith aka a |belief without support| that they are right. It's really not a great thing to have...faith basically makes you a dumb sheep, and the person you have faith in the sheppard...lamb steak anyone? No matter what anyone says I can't begin to come up with any reason why a person should rely on faith to believe anything...but you have to understand the difference between faith and statistical analysis of the sub consious mind. For example it's not faith when you drop a ball and know it will fall, it's statistical analysis, because you can observe when you drop the ball it will fall. So why should I have faith???

If you believe God created the universe, did he only create life on this planet? If intelligent life does exist on any other planet in the universe, wouldn't he have created them too? Would that mean that they need to find religion as well? Would they need their own religious text? I don't see how they could be Christian since Jesus supposedly lived on Earth. Does that mean they were given a different savior or are they all going to hell just because they are not on Earth? Does God not care about them or do the rules just not apply to 'aliens'? If you believe in the Bible does that automatically mean that you know intelligent life could never/never did exist anywhere in the entire universe?

I'm being serious, what are your thoughts on something like that.
