We all agree that the majority of the earth's (God believing) popoulation refer to God as *HIM*.

However, a Mother carries a child in her womb for 9 months...
She nutures and cares for her young unconditionally...
A mother reaches beyond her limits to ensure that her child has everything he/she needs,
She teaches,
She disciplines,
She provides for her young, regardless of circumstances...

A mother is compassionate...however instincttively knows exactly when compassion can be destructive. So we discipline (intuitively)

A mother is sensitive to the needs of her chilldren

So..What traits of GOD is Masculine?

I always see posts here asking "Why do you celebrate Christmas if you don't believe in Christ?" So I prepose we "non-believers" start celebrating Laugh At The Fundies Day on December 25th. I mean, they don't want us celebrating their totally inclusive holiday, right? So we'll just make our own.

It's a time to get together with family and friends, have fun, share good food and presents, and of course, look back at the stupid things religious fundamentalists have done over the past year and laugh and laugh.

"Hey, remember Marck Foley? Good times!"
"What about Fred Phelps? Hilarity!"
"Pass the egg nog!"

What do you think? Will it catch on? Think we can talk some stores into having Laugh At The Fundies Day sales?

i was reading on wikipedia about the angel of death and it seems islam, judasm, and christanity all have very differnt views. chirstans saw him/her as a agent of the devil, jews saw him/her as a angery devine angel, and ther was not enough for me to get a view of islam...so um what do you think about death?

It wasn't December. I thought it was September or October. Does anyone know what time of year historians and religious leaders feel Jesus was born?

Help! I just can't make up my mind. How do I decide which religion is best? If I choose Christianity, how on Earth do I decide which sect? There are so many of them! How did YOU choose?

In Biblical times as shown by the story of Panchus Pilate putting Jesus(Sinless)and Barabus(a thief)in front of the crowd of people. They apparently had a tradition of releasing a prisoner every year or so often;and that perosn waled away free. Why dont we do that today?Maybe every year or something have all 50 states realease a prisoner(crime or prison time not considered). Like have each state whithin themselves have prisons put up thier most behaved or reformed prisoner to possibly be voted to have their freedom restored.
Yes,their criminals, yes they sinned, yes they've served prison time.Is there any one of you that hasnt sinned before God?Bible says the wages of sin is death. So technically were all deserving of the wrath of God.But would society be forgiving enough and willing enough to let 50 prisoners a year go free?
Or is everybody just a bunch of jackels and hienas wanting to devour the people for past crimes? Are you forgiving enough to leave the past in the past(not forget)?

I've heard a lot of commentary and questions about how much christians have actually studied their faith. I have. I wasn't born again in a church. It was on my face realizing what a mess I was. I believe there is a good deal of christians who have studied their faith at great length and ...AMAZINGLY, they still believe. Not only that but their faith is validated again and again. How many christians have actually studied? It can be anything from the bible in general to christian apologetics to creation science to prayer etc....Just curious.

I think so. I mean, look at the giraffe and platypus, somebody on high got a kick out of evolution, no?
I think God (as I happen to call him) is playful and funny. He's got to be to love us all so much :)
Any thoughts?

The day will come when you have to say yes or no. Yes or no to what? To joining the human race on this planet as it ascends to a higher dimension. If you say no, you will be escorted to an Earth-like planet where you can continue your pursuit of advancement in a place where greed and power rule -sound familiar? No, not hell but a place where you continue to experience and learn. Those who choose to ascend may not! It depends whether or not you are ready. Your body may not survive the transformation but fear not. You will be given a new body in that case.

Yes this is really a serious and direct question that deserves answers. Yahoo has shown that they are incapable of discerning between real questions and statements/non-questions. Do not make the same mistake!

Answer with thoughtfullness and in the spirit in which the question was written. This is not a religious question but a spiritual one dealing with evolution, transformation, and your future and the future of all of us. no bs

...the various aspects of the faith they were raised in when they discover that they may not accept some aspects of that faith? As an intellectual, I find some aspects of my religion tough to "stomach" and I'm curious about exploring those aspects; what would you suggest?
Specifically, I'm curious that maybe some aspects of "paganism" might be authentic...

I think this is one area where we can learn someting from the Protestants. I think that this would help some Catholics to discover that the Bible is a Catholic book. After all, the Catholic Church put the books of the New Testament together, so it shouldn't be surprising that it agrees with the Catholic faith when taken in context.

You claim you believe God is like the toothfairy and you do not believe. Cool enough. And yet you all come to the religion and spirituality section to shove your disbelief down everyone's throats and disrespect their personal beliefs. Why would you care so much about what you do not believe in. So is atheism a religion now? Why would I join you when you do this? What a waste of time! Do you really think you are going to stop them from believing?

if that is the case then where do we set our foundation for right and wrong? How can we tell good and bad if everything is a matter of opinion? I think that relativism is a bad idea and will cause society to breakdown as people do what suits them. (abortion, gay-marriage, etc.)
