Not exactly lead cups but in some cases yes. In Rome the volume of lead in the wine was dangerously high and they suffered lead poisonisng leading to madness, impotence, gout and other rather nasty effects. The result of this was a decaying population which proved to be the downfall of the empire. Also the water pipes were lined with white lead oxide which didnt help matters.

Attempting to cast lead into a cup would prove a rather disastrous prospect the metal is so soft that you would never get it to keep much of a shape without being impractically heavy. Thus the lead was typically added with copper and tin to form pewter for drinking vessels.

Yes, but only by the nobility. The general population was either not rich enough, or were slaves and had not the resources to obtain lead drinking cups. Those folks drank from wooden cups or bowls.

super question! to respond to it correct nevertheless, possible for sure comprehend the background of that corporation; and the main appropriate answer won't be enjoyed by the two JW’s and non-JW’s. C.T. Russell became not a “Jehovah’s Witness”; era. He became a Bible student. His comprehend-how approximately Jesus function became and is actual, from a Christian attitude. while he died (or became killed) and his successors took over his paintings and created the “Jehovah’s Witness” faith, his understandings have been, over the years, purged; some in simple terms before others. Jesus function as divine became a variety of teachings. My opinion is (according to a great variety of study) that the WT corporation is controlled by Zionist Jews, and is the reason why the concentration on Jesus has diminished to insignificance between them (Even maximum of their songs incorporate not something approximately Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior), and concentration has extra suitable on previous testomony rules and “Jehovah”. Christians are referred to as to be Witnesses of CHRIST.

Doubtful, lead was not used much in the middle east at that time.
Probably Gold, Silver or wood. There have been some stone (ceramic) cups found.

My thought would be a cheap alloy of copper. Maybe brass. Brass is still very popular in the middle east now. It isn't as heavy and malleable as lead, so it is more portable and durable.
Also clay, but clay is easy to break and is heavy. This is also still sold in traditional middle-eastern markets.

Not only were drinking vessels made of lead, which mostly poisoned the rich who drank wine from them. (the poor used dried gourds), but the Aqueducts were lined with lead because it was plentiful and malleable.
