You can read about the exercise but you CANNOT learn it just by looking at the steps online or froma a book because the true essence of any form of 'qi' exercise lies in the breathing techniques, correct postures and the amount of strength you need to exert with every movement. If you make any mistakes it will not 'harm' you but you will not be able to reap the real benefits from the exercise. If you are really interested, look for a qualified instructor.

I did tai chi, thai boxing, grappling and western boxing. You cant really learn any of that stuff on websites or dvds. I strongly recommend a class!!! The teacher can correct you. If you pick up bad habits they will stay and you will never know. Plus you will have more fun with others.

PS look for a teacher who studied for a long time under different people there a lot of idiots with no qualifications teaching.

There are many different kinds of Tai Chi. The link above is for what I consider, the REAL Tai Chi. I used to study this form of Tai Chi before I injured my knee. I loved it so much. They have tournaments all around the world. Especially exciting is the SWORD and/or SABRE Tai Chi. I never reached that level but sure wanted to. Once you see it done with the SWORDS and/or SABRES you will want to make that your goal too.

My class did a demonstration at a local Mall. When they did the SWORD Tai Chi demonstration one of the security guards whispered to me, "Those are just fake swords right?" I picked one up and handed it to him so he could see that they are indeed REAL swords.
