We should not treat "religion" as "middleman" in praying.
We should distinguish "religion" with "middleman" or "deity".
"Deity" is forbidden in major religions of this world. We should pray to God directly without going through "deities" such as stone, sun, animal, plant or the so-called spiritual beings (angels or jinns).
If we believe that there is God, we will need to learn to know God (His existence, attributes etc). As to know God, we need correct methods. The methods are through religion. A true religion will teach us the correct method to know God.

actual. faith is a huge concern; in simple terms approximately any prepared team of religious ideals would be considered a faith, while there is far less leeway with the belief of one "God". no longer each and every faith has to have a god, the two (Buddhism, for example). And sometimes, believers decide directly to settle for some ideals of a faith yet no longer others (such by using fact the thought of a god). and admittedly, what "God" do you mean? The Christian God? The Muslim Allah? The Flying Spaghetti Monster? it relatively is lots extra handy to outline and abide by making use of the constructs of a faith than the belief of a novel all-powerful spectral being.

People need a set of practices to follow to make it easier to connect with the divine. And people yearn to experience God while connecting with other people. Hence, people (like me) pray to God on our own, yet find it rewarding to commit ourselves to a faith that helps provide the discipline, focus, and fellowship we yearn for.
I understand what you're saying, and I agree with it to a point. Sometimes we follow the (man-made) religion while neglecting the presence of God. That said, I believe there is also a danger in believing we can fully submit to God's Will without the support of a religious faith.
peace be with you

Technically you have to believe in a god of some sort to have a religion, but people use the religions to justify their reasonings for believing in God.

I think this could be true.I went to church most of my life and I switched churches also, because of my husband wanting to go to a certain church.People get wrapped up in religion and don`t always study for themselvies.I don`t go to a church building now but I believe in God and consider myself spiritual.I`ve always studied,I wanted to learn.I`m grounded in my belief and I know I could go to just about any church and find something there that would agree with me and something that I wouldn`t agree with.We go to church to learn and to concrgate with others to help strenthen our beliefs.
