Scriptural typology is:
A biblical person, thing, action, or event that foreshadows new truths, new actions, or new events. In the Old Testament, Melchizedech and Jonah are types of Jesus Christ. A likeness must exist between the type and the archetype, but the latter is always greater. Both are independent of each other. God’s call for the return of the Israelites from Pharaoh’s bondage typifies the return of Jesus Christ from his flight into Egypt. In the New Testament the destruction of Jerusalem, foretold by Christ, was the antitype of the end of the world.1

Adam & Eve’s sin is repaired by the righteousness of the new Adam and Eve in Jesus and Mary. Adam and Eve caused the downfall of man, Jesus and Mary the redemption of man.
Genesis 3:15
Romans 5:12-21

Isaac carrying the wood is like Jesus carrying the Cross.
Genesis 22:6

Abraham sacrificing his son is like the Heavenly Father offering up his Son Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah.

Imagine being in a place full of rapists, murderers, and theives that believed in god while they were alive. It would also be full of crusaders who murdered millions and warshiped severed heads. Then there all the annoying famous people who live like there isnt a poor person in the world. On top of that you would watch good, peaceful, and caring people burn in hell while everyone around you saying they chose and deserve it, while saying "god is fair"
Sound terrible doesnt it? But I guess according to magica biblel law you get anything and get to do anything you want forever in heaven. lol

Christians believe if you except Christ as your personal savior you have eternal life even if your die before the second coming or you are still alive at the second coming. What do people believe who aren't christians as to where you go after you die? Are you just dead. I am trying to understand what others believe. Not trying to be judgemental just trying to understand what other people who aren't christians believe

And after that just stop the useless debates?

A few Gods talking about their Vision, their Religion. They can randomly sing some gospels, we do a text-voting..and voila, one God wins the title of True God.

Sounds much easier to me than all the useless debate about which God is the true one. Let's settle it for once and for all.

Should the pledge go back to its original form and the original intent of the person who created it? Or should we keep the addition of 'under God' that was made in the 1950's -- a change that was made by lthose with a theocratic agenda who leveraged the fear of communism (tying it with atheism) to get the change made?

The jews say it's Isaac, the muslims say it's Ishmail. We all know that according to the bible when Isaac was born, Ishmail was 13. And we also know that God ordered Abraham to sacrifice his ONLY SON. Which in this case can not be othen than Ishmail.

It took the believers no effort to believe. They put foward no effort and walk the earth like they own it and tell everyone that stuggles with the illogical ways of christanity that they will burn for eternity.
Christians remind of people born into rich families. They did nothing to earn but they think they know everyone about it.
anyone feel the same

Religions that don't celebrate birthdays ?

2006-11-06 15:56:16 · 7 answers · asked by thekaramazovbrother 1

Sometimes people ask me what my religion is, and I tell them, I'm an Atheist. What do they do? Look at me like im scum. I feel as if they want to spit on me. I'm not a very stereotypical person, but what I see is Christians and Catholics looking down upon me. Now, it's not like I walk around telling people, "Hey, there is no God, there is no God!", but people ask, and then they scoff. Pretty much what happens is they look at me like, "What makes you so special?", so I look at them like, "What room do you have to judge?". People see me around, they turn their heads, but why? Because I don't believe in Vishnu? Or Zeus? Or Jesus? I would rather say that I when I die I will be there, in a casket, or an urn, just to decay, rather than worship a carpenter. Who is to say that Jesus wasn't exaggerated? Religions in general, I have seen, and what I see is just to point out a reason for living, but would you rather live your life and do what you want, or be constricted by what we call society?

This is sort of a poll. What are your beliefs regarding the creation-evolution controversy? If you're a creationist, are you a Young-Earth Creationist, or Old Earth, or another type of creationist? If you believe in evolution, is it theistic evolution, atheistic/agnostic evolution, or another type of evolution? Why do you believe what you believe? I really appreciate your input!
