I consider myself an atheist/agnostic (depending on my mood), so I'm not bringing it up as a bad thing, but considering the fact that less than 5% of the US population is purported to be atheist/agnostic, I find it surprising how many people on Y! Answers profess not to believe in god. Anyone share this observation? Any ideas on why non-religious folk seem to be over-represented around these parts (or maybe why we're under-represented elsewhere)? Maybe we should start a guild or something.

Sticky situation here. I am in the process of a divorce. I ran into my former ex bf from 5 years ago and we hooked up. Here is where it gets sticky. His house burned down shortly after we fought about nothing. He moved in with his ex wife and it's been purely like roommates. His ex and I are like friends. So, we've been seeing each other for a while now. We made a mistake and went too far, from which I could be pregnant. He called me later on that day and said that he will do whatever I want, including moving in together. I think he's already started that, becuase he phoned me saying that his ex turned out to be jealous and that she had given him three weeks to move out. He wants this to go as smoothly as possible, so he asked me not to call for a couple of weeks to avoid any more trouble. I know for a fact they are not doing anything from knowing his ex so well and having gotten close. The three weeks thing, is he really working no getting out or is he running?

My dad passed away a couple of years ago. Usually my family and i go to his grave and tell him a few developments in the family, the bad and the good. We even ask for his "protection" against all evil. I recently repented and gave my life to Jesus Christ now i'm wondering whether going to my dad's grave is a sin or not.

How many of us can actually set here and just talk about actually serving god and saying that we believe in him. the reason I am asking this is because I see a lot of my frineds saying they believe in God a church and when it comes down to the wiere at school they yet to seem to even mention gods name one time or even say that they believe in god, all i want you to do to answer this question is is just simpy put I believe in god and i will stand up for him, or something like that. Just so i can see how many people will stand up for god when the time is right...

When reading this Yahoo!Forum God seems to be very occupied with our sexlives.

All day long, every day God is busy keeping track of who sleeps with whom, and who was allowed to sleep with whom. I'm sure He must get tired of it.

Can't we just help Him a little, by having one sex-less day each year? I'm sure it would make Him very happy and relaxed.

As you may or may not have heard, scientists recently discovered the oldest skeleton of a baby Australopithecus afarensis ever found. Australopithecus afarensis is our oldest known evolutionary ancestor, and have features belonging to both humans and apes. Here's an article if you want to learn more: http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200609/s1745806.htm

My question is, what do Christians think of this? How does this species that is so like us fit in with your view of Creationism? Do you think this species is really our ancestor? Why or why not? Please give as much explenation as you can.

It's pretty clear from reading the BOM that it states Jesus and God the father are one and the same (it even mentions the trinity directly). Why do mormons say that they believe Jesus is only a son of god...

I know that if I see the Dajaal riding the big donkey around the world I have to become a Muslim. And I know if all the rivers and seas turn into blood I have to become a Christian. But I'm blessed if I can work out your eschatology. What if you guys are right? You are the original middle eastern monotheists, so you might be. What sign do I look for that the end is near, and do you take converts? I am circumcised.
p.s., hope you all profited from my Melbourne Cup prophecy.
