Why should people bother having a religion?

People have religion to feel wanted or needed. Its their scapegoat... God is the excuse to get out of everything bad in their lives. Instead of taking the blame for their mistakes, they look to God for "forgiveness".

even though by birth we do have some ability like to stand and walk and run, we need someone to teach us language.... and so many other things which we donot understand by birth. Similarly religion is something which teaches us something about life and soceity and God. So not to bother but religion is nothing wrong, but let us not give the most importance to it rather than just get educated from it.

The Qur'an teaches us that the human race is given an innate spirituality are inherent in human existence,
but this spirituality can betray us if it is not led in the right direction. To depend on a merely human
feeling of the guiding Spirit is dangerous. Many groups, even cults, claim to be guided by the spirit or
by God or by revelation, yet these groups hold divergent, even contradictory, beliefs. We find people
behaving in contradictory ways who claim nonetheless that each is doing the will of God. "I feel," they
say, "that the spirit guides and directs me."

A credible source of revelation is imperative. Throughout history Allah has selected particular
individuals to convey His message, to receive His revelation and to exemplify it for mankind



God provides us with the purpose of our existence and if we seek to do good it is the same as seeking to do the will of God. Your belief in God only has value in so far as you live your life according to His purpose for you.



How then do we know what is the will of God? That is where religion comes in. GOD has revealed His will through prophets. To find out what this is you need to study the revelation

Basically human being is weak and without religion he is vulnarable to many evils. In order to be away from bad things and be a good person it is better to believe in God.
In reality the true message of God in almost all religion is same, it is human being which distort its meaning. So one should try to be good instead of following and quoting wrong examples of any religion.

A religion organise your life, give u a motive for life, tells u how to live n wht to do, i think religion makes your life easy for u, instead of wandering around u just seek help from the religion regarding any problem. n u can cope with it...i love being follower of my religion.

Many people can't handle feeling alone, religion, faith or whatever you might call it makes them feel less alone and more like they are accepted by someone, the someone who really means something in the universe. So if everyone else in the world hates them, their religion makes them feel as if there is always someone there for them.

[017:097] And he whom Allâh guides, he is led aright; but he whom He sends astray, for such you will find no Auliyâ' (helpers and protectors) besides Him, and We shall gather them together on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind, dumb and deaf; their abode will be Hell; whenever it abates, We shall increase for them the fierceness of the Fire.

[017:098] That is their recompense, because they denied Our Ayât (proofs, verses, evidences, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and said: "When we are bones and fragments, shall we really be raised up as a new creation?"

[017:099] See they not that Allâh, Who created the heavens and the earth, is Able to create the like of them. And He has decreed for them an appointed term, whereof there is no doubt. But the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong doers) refuse (the truth – the message of Islâmic Monotheism, and accept nothing) but disbelief.

[017:100] Say (to the disbelievers): "If you possessed the treasures of the Mercy of my Lord (wealth, money provision), then you would surely hold back (from spending) for fear of (being exhausted), and man is ever miserly!"

[017:101] And indeed We gave Mûsâ (Moses) nine clear signs. Ask then the Children of Israel, when he came to them, then Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to him: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! I think you are indeed bewitched."

i guess ppl have or believe in a religion because it gives them answers to like things they cant answer.. and it like gives them hope and something or someone to go to when they are in trouble or stressed out...
