"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice... And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. "

has the reference to Jesus as "Rabbi" been changed to "Lord, teacher, master"?I know that my grandpa's Bible Jesus is mostly refer to Rabbi or teacher.

I'm Just curious if he is still refered to as Rabbi in the "updated" versions. My bible is still a bit old.

Isn't this the root of all of our problems, commit a crime, confess it and go on to commit the next crime ?

Does the irrationality of religious extremists make christians question their own religion? When I hear some christian people preach and talk about god it sounds a lot like the way Bin Ladin or some other crazy religious extremist would talk, minus the attacks of course. Could the same religious factor that leads Bin laden to blindly believe that what he's doing is right also lead Christians to blindly say that the bible is right and what they do is right? Both have faith right? So isn't he a good example of why we should question faith? Would you say that some religious interpretations are right and some are wrong?

If you would notice, the word reverend is mentioned only once in the bible, Psalm 111:9:

"He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name." [KJV]

Catholics called the pope his most reverend, while only calling God His Reverend. Does it imply the pope is greater than God while using the superlative term "most"?

Where do you draw the line? Religious leaders once thought the world was flat. Today they fight evolution, though while not perfect has by far the most evidents in support of it. As science further proves that a person is born being gay and has no more choice than a straight man has to be straight. As science and physics uncovers more about multiple dimensions. As doctors and psychologysts discover at what point an unborn fetus feals pain or develops a conciousness. I believe in god. It seems to me that science is just us looking harder and harder while trying to be objective and questioning of our findings. Religion seems like a psychological delusion or a make believe story. Just because a religion sounds good and has a huge following doesn't mean it is the truth. What if science finds truth first? What if religion is incapable of finding truth because faith actually closes ones eyes to examining the outside world with science?

Most high point in Australia, like airs rock in the middle the largest rock in the world have sea shell fossils because the sea was high enough for them to live there for a very long time and thats how high the seas can climb when all the water is not iced up at the polar caps , in greenland and the mountains of Tibet etc, so if the oil companies and all the other humans involved in melting ice keep going we are in deep trouble because no one knows how to put the ice back. The Bibles says at the end the seas will dry up but the opposite is happening. Someone told me that God is heating up the ice so that it will eventually turn into clouds and the seas will evaporate but that would mean another flood first and God said he would not flood the earth again. So can anyone logically explain whats going on?

It's pretty amusing to see those U. S. Christian teens keeping their virginity till marriage who regularly practise oral sex, for example, or Muslims praying devoutly after drinking koumiss (alcoholic drink) in Mongolia.

So how many of the people do actually know how to serve the deities? How many understand who is God? How many understand the words of the holy scriptures?
