There are still Americans who insist the very same thing. Every major event in any country will be surrounded by its' share of wild conspiracies. It's just one of the things humans do - speculate - and some of those speculations just seem to be a lot more bizarre than others.

I think the American moon landing was a hoax, yet I'm not a muslim. I've never before heard of this opinion being a common one amongst muslims.

It is not muslims, it all atrted when a French journalist noticed that the american flag on the moon was moving while there is no wind on the moon.

The only people who I've heard say this are a few conspiracy "experts" (and I use this term mockingly), and none of them are Muslim.
