In the Bible death means "separaton". When the spirit separates from the body that is physical death. James 2:26 "For just as the body without the spirit is dead..." When man is separated from God that is spiritual death. Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God" When man is eternally separated from God in Hell that is eternal death.

death is the absence of any life, there is no spontaneous movement. There is now electrical brain patterns. there is no breathing.
The person or animal, has left there body. In the case of a person, they have gone on to there eternal reward. Those who have trusted in the saving work of Jesus Christ have gone on to heaven. It is only while a person is alive that they can have control over the final outcome.

basically death is "Pain"
A painful happening in which soul is taken away from the body to its eternal existance ,a cut off point between being 'alive' and 'dead'. n then new life starts which we call life after death.

when as with a cattapilla we are born again into spirit
the flesh is cast off and the spirit is freed and rewarded according to our freely chosen loves
loves of good go into the higher places of light
those who loved evil into the lower levels into the darkness
by doing good ,by loving to do good we get into higher realms
our own loves and hates determin our place
death is the gradjuation of flesh of learning into spirit that we earned of our deeds
