Whenever you hear the songs of birds or the laughter of children, that is the voice of the gods.
If a voice is telling you to rob a store and kill anyone that is wearing red shoes, that means that you need to get your medications adjusted. :D

God is always speaking to you through you and everything around you. Now ask yourself down what avenue does exist and the answer should be the avenue of complete purity. If you really want to know for sure how or if God is communicating with you state your claim of your right to know Him and that you are ready to do as He bids you. Remember the less of you there is to get in your way, the clearer the line of communication. Know this journey is not a game, it represents your coming of spiritual age and enlightenment, where many tests are to be endured and many tears shed. Know also the joy is endless and your powers wonderfully exiting! The path of spiritual discouvery is endless yet the pain remains in your control for only as long as you need it!

You receive clarity, purpose, and direction--and insights that you couldn't have come up with on your own.
You know it's God when you receive what he gives you with gratitude and humility. You know it's God when you feel calm and have a sense that there is really all the time in the world. There is no knee-jerk urgency when God's will is revealed to you. It is more like an expansive, illuminating sense of reality, clarity, and purpose (like I said), heretofore unimaginable to you, but simple and plain as day, as if it had always been there, but you just hadn't been looking.

I think it is so fabulous that you speak with God on a regular basis. You can recognize His communications with you through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost feels like love, joy, peace, happiness, faith, and so forth. If you are feeling any of these feelings, that's a sign that God is communicating with you.

I've been told that if we want to speak to god all we have to do is pray--If we want God to speak to us all we have to do is read his word in the scriptures.
The spirit can prompt us to those verses that will bring us comfort and answers to our prayers

Remember Jesus said He will never leave you nor forsake you. He also mentioned that he would send a paraclete (the Holy Spirit) PAraclete literally means, the one who walks along side of. The holy spirit convicts us of truth and always points to Jesus just as Jesus always points to the father. I hope that helps a little.

He speaks righteous things to you to do or not do, but you should know your bible so His voice in will be a little louder and not so quiet. If you haven't cried out to God and ask Him to save you. Confess your sins and repent, promise to never commit them again. If you Pray believeing that He has the power to save you and that Christ died for your sin He will save you and break the bondage that the devil has you in. The Lord's voice will be much clearer for you to hear.
Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10 - For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 14:11 - For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Romans 15:9 - And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
Philippians 2:11 - And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
1 Timothy 6:13 - I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
Hebrews 11:13 - These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
James 5:16 - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 4:2 - Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1 John 4:15 - Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
Revelation 3:5 - He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
