Politics gets me riled up.
I have to be involved and passionate (especially THIS time of year! VOTING TIME) because I'm a citizen and Christians are supposed to be good citizens.

Jesus calms me down. You do the best you can to make the world a better place, and even though there are good people in politics, there's no denying it attracts the ruthlessly power-hungry as well. At the end of the day, I remember, Jesus says, "My kingdom is not of this world." We do the best we can while we're here, but this life is not all there is. This world is not our last opportunity to be in a place where fairness and love and kindness and justice are the rule rather than the exception.

***Added later****. AMEN! to tinypuppy. I'm a Christian and I agree with you. Now yer gettin' me riled up about religion AND politics.

I don't bother with politics because I know they're likely to be lying and there's not much I can do about it, or say about it considering I know nothing about it. So religion is likely the one of the two which I get most riled about.

Oh I think you can get people riled up on both those points.

But I think that religion would be my answer as not too many people have confidence in politics anymore, but we will hold on to our religious beliefs and the freedom to practice it. Even the jews were allowed to worship God while slaves to the great Pharohs of Egypt.

Religion!

I think they go hand in hand. Because most of the arguments with the both parties have to do with ethnics. Take the Democrats for instance, they are supporters of partial birth abortions and gay marriages and the Republicans are dead against it. I feel that there is a continuous battle going on between good and evil all the time weather its with Religion and /or politics

Religion. People tend to be more passionate and emotional about religion than politics. As much as liberals and conservatives don't get along, a fundamentalist Christian and a staunch atheist are probably more likely to argue, and argue longer.

Religion. In politics, it is accepted that politicians lie. In religion, you got a big fat rulebook that says you better not lie. In politics, one can be defeated with facts. In religion, facts can be refuted as devilish deception.
