I've had 3 questions removed recently as inappropriate. The last one was a reasonable question to believers that if god and science were equally tasked with finding cures to deadly diseases who would come up with the cure first? It was removed for "Epithets & Slurs" when it contained NONE AT ALL.

Yet there are questions posted every day that go wholely unnoticed by the Y!A staff that are genuinely aimed at hurting atheists or spreading non truths about them.

It's more than frustrating.

From what I understand to be a Christian is to believe in Jesus, and that Jesus died for our sins, and that you have been saved or baptized. Now I believe there was a man named Jesus, just as I believe there was a man named Budhha, Mohammad, and others.
I believe that Jesus did not die for our sins, but that he died as a result of our sins upon him, that we also bestow upon our fellow man. I am an atheist in some respects, because I do not believe there to be a god, but more so a way of being god like. There is a divine force, but I dont believe it is a man with a long beard ready to cast us in the lake of fire. Man create hell in their way of thinking, and heaven as well. Judgement and fear only inhibits the purpose of divinity, and brings us back to the crucification of ourselves. This was the ultimate message that jesus brought us was that man will crucify man with his hatred, and bigotry. So does it surpsrise you I would make such a bold statement?
Just wondering, I wish you well

Christians...why do you continuously allow yourself to be baited with foolish comments. I too enjoy discussing and correcting untruths but its obvious when a person is simply making a statement only to offend and bring response. Nothing you say will cause that person to revoke their comment or change their mind. Their heart has hardened and all you can do is pray for them. Dont allow them to pull you to their level...
Matthew 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

I have a friend who had it really rough growing up. Her father was a very violent alcoholic and drug addict and her mom just didn't care about anything. They never really had a home, always staying with relatives. But, when she was around 11 they didn't even stay with relatives anymore. They slept in this deserted trailer with no water, heat, electricity or anything. Well, what I'm getting to is that 3 years ago (she is now 17) her dad died. Even though he was an awful man and I don't see how she could have feelings for him she loved/loves him dearly. She slipped into a depression but is better now. However, she confided to me that she dwells on something. She thinks that God can do anything and if she prays hard enough he will turn back time for her. She said that when she is bored or with nothing to do she just sits and thinks about what she would do if he done that for her. I don't know what to do. How can I help her?

Thanks for your help.

The reason I ask is because I'm reading in the old testament where God told this person to kill every evil person especially children.

So if God told you today to go kill someone for a good reason would you? Or like me, would you rush straight to the mental facility and demand them to lock you up because you're hearing a crazy man in your head to kill others and you don't want to?

I was just thinking about this, because the holidays are around the corner. There have been several times in the past in which I've wished people "Happy Holidays", and they've gotten offended because I didn't wish them a Merry Christmas instead. First of all, I had no way of knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were Christians. Second, I can't help but think that it's rather offensive to automatically assume that everyone practices the same religion and celebrates the same holiday or else to act as if one religion or holiday is valid. At least the greeting "Happy Holidays" covers all of them and takes everyone into account.

There is an atheist who is for all intents and purposes a good moral person, helps others, is generous and loving.
There is also a serial killer who has led a hard bloody life full of problems and addictions, but who finds before their death a love of Jesus and proclaims to have found God and asks for forgiveness.
Do both of these men make it to heaven, neither one, one and not the other?
According to the Christian belief system, who makes it to heaven or hell and how is it justified?
Serious answers only please.

I wont go into all the details why I think so, but I have several reasons to believe she has spiritual magic in her head and would like to help her learn how to use it in a positive way. Any Pagans out there want to give me some leads, or book titles on how to help her? She is still very young and could really benefit with training.

The Bibles say the sea will dry up but its actually raising, if drying seas are meant to be a sign of the end and Gods arival then is'nt it logical that raising sea are the opposite to the profecy and therefore God is not about to arrive and all the other profecys can be attributed to Globel Warming and wars as caused by man and not God or Satan? When will the sea dry up? Why are the polar caps melting, the Bible does not even mention polar caps.

In October 2001, Democrat Senator Walter Campbell issued the Scarlet Letter Law...A law that stated that all Florida women that were wanting to put their child up for adoption would have to publically state their names, age , race, sex, and all their sexual partners in the newpaper...the add would run once a week for four weeks straight...this was was only effective for 18 months..However, is trying to become reeenacted again...

This law would alos apply to all rape victims as well...
Do u believe that it would possibly increase the number of abortions performed?

Does it violate the privacy issue??

Whats next from the Govermant are they going to have everyone that is HIV positive publically state their names too with all their sexual partners...

This could be done in a better way without humiliating the woman d u agree?
