What does this mean to you...
"For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Ephesians 2: 8,9

Is there a question? Why then do so many "Christian" religions say we have to earn our way to heaven one way or another? If we have to earn salvation, then did Christ die in vain?

Please help me understand. I am European Catholic Christian and hardly understand American culture producing so many different groups of Christianity, lead by one man, creator. For me, Jesus is one and no one between, and I cannot imagine myself believe someone creating something like that and I would never go and pray in his 'Church'. This is weird to me, makes me feel like some people behave like sheep, while he lives in a villa and makes good money. Tell me I am wrong and correct me. Thanks.

we might claim that morals have utility in maintaining a society. But, as atheists, we can also say that morals are man made and therefore arbitrary. If this it true, then why would one want to submit to anyone else’s morals when there is no justification of someone else’s morals being equal to or better than any other’s?
Q.As a logical atheist then, should I not strive to be in a position of authority which will allow me to form an environment where those around me are subject to my own moral constructs, thereby guaranteeing that the moral fabric of my society does not deteriorate beyond that of my own morals?

I find it hard to fathom why certain people of traditionally non British faiths have such a hard time accepting people asking simple questions about their beliefs and faith?

Surely they reliase that what Britain is about is not being afraid to ask challenging questions?

His death really was representative of all human suffering, since the Jews have suffered so much over the Years (in Egypt to Holocoust to today in Isreal) why don't they consider Christ to be the Messiah?

For example: If you know everything there is to know about a particular game, the rules, all the possible outcomes, like a game of chess, could you in effect predict the outcome of this game? What if it where not a game but life itself?

What if God knows? What if he knows: what you will do, what we will say, even before you say it?

then is our destiny decided even before we are born? What does your religion say aboutt divine predestination?

I have found that many atheists are very intelligent and analytical people. Where as the christians I have encountered are more emotional, and driven. Which do you think is the way to god.
Now I know Athesists say they dont believe in god, but to me from the responses I have received from atheists they are very caring respectful people. So although they dont believe in god, it would seem that they live the principles of god. NOw is it that they understand that god is god, and no god, but more of a way of spirit.
And by knowing this does it allow them to be more honest, because they do not fear the consequences of sin? Or is the devout believer who sees sin as a way of keeping them from heaven, and lives their life in fear of sinning that better knows and lives the example of god. Just wondering?
