In essence Christianity is due to the fact it believes in the trinity, the father, the son, and the holy ghost as being G-D. Animists believe everything has a soul (example a rock) not necessarily something as Divine. In terms of polytheism, in terms of Western Society, Hinduism would be the largest sect, numbering in the millions as opposed to much small sects I'm unaware of.

I don't know that they're a very large group (Since they're not part of churches and it's hard to get an accurate number) but the Pagans are polytheists as well.

Wiccans. At the very least they believe in the Goddess and the God. Some traditions break them down farther into aspects of the Goddess and God that are easier to communicate with for specific needs, like focusing your needs toward Venus if they involve love and romance.

Hindus are not Polytheists. The problem is when people see hinduism through the spectacles of semitic religion they cant really grasp the soul of hinduism.
Hinduism belives in One God whom they call AUM/Brahm or Turiya.
As per hinduism this supreme consciousness manifests as different gods, and Universe....hence we believe He is behind all his creations..The division is apparent not real
He is at the core of our being.

Christians are the largest group of polytheists around, but they try to skirt around it with that "one equals three but not really but yes really" trinity concept.

pagans i am sure have more than one deity
many religions however feel there are many aspects to one God ... i am unsure if this would still fall under polytheists

Anamists are polythiests. In reality, Hindus are not... they are athiests. They do not worship other gods... but have created symbols to express their faith to...and to most these appear to be gods...

Pagans believe that all gods are one god. It's just easier to worship in different aspects. Blessed be.
