I've had 3 questions removed recently as inappropriate. The last one was a reasonable question to believers that if god and science were equally tasked with finding cures to deadly diseases who would come up with the cure first? It was removed for "Epithets & Slurs" when it contained NONE AT ALL.

Yet there are questions posted every day that go wholely unnoticed by the Y!A staff that are genuinely aimed at hurting atheists or spreading non truths about them.

It's more than frustrating.

I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said (correct me if i'm wrong) something to the effect of the only reasonable response to unfounded claims is ridicule. I happen to agree with him.

There has been an organized attempt in recent weeks by some of the jesus-heads to target some of the more vocal atheists who hang out in R&S by abusing the reporting system. They simply don't want us here and are hoping by harassment, and having account deleted that we will get fed up and go away, to allow them their delusions.

Many of us have had similar experiences with quite reasonable questions and answers reported that don't break the guidelines. I think of it as similar to the dirty tricks that desparate Republicans are doing in order to hang on to power at any cost.

I don't think it's "slander" but more like "disagree with." In the R&S section I have found it tio be the other way around. From my perspective, it's the atheist that slanders the Christian. PLEASE go to postings where Christian vs Atheist (or the other way around) is apparent, and see if what I am saying is true or not. I think the greater amount of slander will come from the Atheist. Doubt my word? Just go to the postings-Q&A and find out. I think that most of the time a Christian posting is ment to help the other person/s. Help-not hinder. Yes, a Christian is to be kind to all, but that doesn't mean that a Christian has to find a faulty belief or life style as being good. Why call something that is wrong as being right? A Christian may be friends with ANYONE, but they will have more in common with another Christian.

It's definitely a two-way street. I've seen alot, maybe even more, of atheists who feel they need to educate us through insults.

You choose to believe God is a myth. That's your choice. I don't slam any atheists/agnostics and I don't support anyone who does, but I have no doubt that God is real. I honestly don't see why your question was removed, based on what you've told us, but perhaps someone reported it who felt offended. I can't say for sure because I don't know if there was anything else in the post that you haven't mentioned. Anyway, I respectfully disagree with you, and I do believe God Almighty is real, but I will not insult you because you don't feel that way. I will only take issue with those who feel the need to slam others who believe in God and belittle their faith. We can all disagree without resorting to name-calling and insults.

It also happened to me a couple of days ago. 11 violation notices, 8 of them obviously false, all obviously coming from some Christian who has decided to attack Y!Answers participants who disagree with him.

Be aware that if you get too many violations, they will ban you, and that means not just banning you from Y!A, but also eliminating your entire Yahoo! account: email, MyYahoo, the whole works.

They have no way to judge which reports are for real violations and which are just attacks, so this could happen to you simply for continuing to post questions and answers, as long as someone out there is vicious enough to report you. It doesn't matter whether or not you really did anything.

Because there are a lot of closed minded fanatics that feel that if it doesn't fit into their little box, then it must be destroyed. They'd rather you go away if you don't believe exactly what they believe than to explore or discuss other possiblities.

Nobody will ever totally agree on everything, but there is always something we can learn from someone else if we just take the time to listen without being judgemental.

I answered that question too! Oh well, I guess some people's faith in God is not very strong. I figure if you truly insult him then you will deal with him not me. And I cannot be offended if I do not know you well enough to really care about your opinion. Too bad others are so thin skinned, huh?I thought it was a resonable question and I am sorry someone reported it. Some have no sense of humor and no faith in God. Peace to ya.

Chances are, the Y!A staff are biased Christians. You are probably also being "targeted" by a specific person as I have. I was hit with 9 violation notices within the period of a couple of hours. All of them were hilariously wrong violations, often times for real answers that were labeled "not a question or answer."

It's pretty miserable.

I think its for the same reasons that my wife answer to this question just got deleted. Nobody knows exactly why. She's Christain and I have been called Atheist and I still love her for her. I'm really trying to answer this, I hope I don't get deleted too!!

I have a feeling the report function on Y!A is a bot. Imagine the man hours needed to check every question or answer that was reported.

I had the same thing happen. Valid questions deleted, and for Epithets & Slurs. Someone was on a tear.
