No Christian is qualified to tell you who is worse...because that is judging and we are commanded not to judge. Only God can judge who is worse. A Christian who is following Christ will only tell you that the only path to eternal salvation is through the sacrifice of Christ...not through human efforts......
(So I guess you could say that an Atheist who does not repent for his or her sins, whatever they may be, and who does not accept Christ, would be "worse OFF" than a believer who committed a worse sin, but who is saved by grace....

Yes. As long as the murderer really does accept Jesus into his/her heart...rather than just fake it to everyone on the outside...Christians believe that if he/she is not being true...then come judgment day he will go to Hell. Someone who does not have faith in God is much worse because the only sin that is unforgivable is not believing.

Yes. to God, (to me I can only love all mankind)Here's why. God will send people to you, He will give you the opportunity to follow him, and obey him. You will continue to deny him, you will call yourself God. He will not have mercy on you.
I could murder someone (not now though, but if I had in my past) and came to find Christ, I repented, I confessed to my sins, I gave up control. I lived for him, not for earthly treasures, or my own gain. I loved, and gave up all the things I held dear, and replaced them with what God wills for me, then yes. I could Go.
I am in to place to say 100% either one would, because I am not God. However, he tells us how we can get there.

I read recently in the Bible that Jesus said the most important commandment is to love God....that's before don't kill, love your neighbors, and all the rest....So I guess they really do believe that...

yes, they feel that atheists are the most evil creatures on earth. "lack of faith" breeds all kinds of contempt. I can kill you, but I can't deny god. go figure.
