"For by grace are you saved, by faith (trust), and that not of yourself it is the gift of God not of works, lest anyone should boast." Eph. 2:8&9

-my Jewish people once were afraid of being thrown out of the synagogue so they refused to be baptised-Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments-yet as the thief on the cross who was never baptised-and truely saved -to be in paradise as Jesus said that day.

Today some get baptised over and over every time they sin thinking they will get saved again.

If you cant earn salvation-then it is a free gift-Just repent as he says and be born again-you cant get unborn from your mom or from God. and its a free gift-you cant pay for it you cant work for it-you cant get baptised for it

baptism tells the world that you are saved-it is the outward expression of what Jesus has done-it doesnt wash away your sins-Jesus precious blood did that when you asked him into your heart and got saved-your life changed and then baptism-what do you say?TY

I know that most people will see this as an intentionally provocative question. But I really mean it as a serious question. It honestly worries me that a lot of people really believe stuff like this. Am I wrong to think that a majority of americans believe that satan is some kind of evil being that really exists? Am I wrong to be worried about this fact?

This affirmation by Catholics and Orthodox of each other as Sister Churches was given papal direction in 1967 when Pope Paul VI handed to Patriarch Athenagoras the brief Anno Ineunte (25 July). The brief affirmed that Orthodox and Catholics were already brothers "in very fact" by virtue of their common baptism, apostolic succession, priesthood, eucharist and participation in the gifts of God to His Church, and acceptance of the "fundamental dogmas of the Christian faith on the Trinity, on the Word of God who took flesh of the Virgin Mary". The Pope explicitly espoused a Sister-Church ecclesiology for our day:
For centuries we lived this life of "sister Churches," and together held the Ecumenical Councils which guarded the deposit of faith against all corruption. And now, after a long period of division and mutual misunderstanding, the Lord in enabling us to discover ourselves as "sister Churches" once more, in spite of the obstacles which were once raised between us.

Are you the type that "force-feeds" others your religion without knowing anything about them or their beliefs? Or maybe you are the type that gets involved in a peaceful discussion about religion, and is satisfied to let others decide their religion for themselves. How do you feel is the best way to present your religion to others? Do you feel whenever you see someone wearing a penticle that its ok to jump in their face and bash their religion, tell them they are going to hell, and forcing your beliefs upon them is the right way? Or would you rather ask them about their religion first, getting involved in a peacefull conversation, and then letting them make their own decision? Would you be satisfied if the other person doesn't wish to follow your beliefs, but remain in their current path?

South American nations are Christian also, and have high crime rates like the USA. If Christianity is supposed to build better, more humane people, why does it produce so many criminals? In the Scandinavian countries, only 5% go to church.

I just asked this, but perhaps I didn't word it exactly.

Since people believe the Rapture is an actual real event that is going to happen, what actual real steps have you taken to prepare for it? Such as "I have arranged for my pets to be taken care of by X" or "I have written letters to my family that isn't christian and they are in my vault?" or "I have written in my will that in case of rapture, my belongings can be dontated to a Children's Hosptial."

Thanks!

Every day I hear talk about the Rapture happening "soon" on here. And you often hear jokes "in case of rapture, can I have the title to your car?" I'm wondering since people believe in this very sincerely, what actual steps they've taken to prepare for it.

Thanks!

So, when I was introduced to the Bible I read a childrens' Bible first, to get a real idea of what the stories were before looking at the details.

I can't afford to buy a childrens' book of Mormon (nor do I know if you can actually get one) but does anyone know any links online with basic BOM stories? Or (if someone has a lot of time on their hands) could anyone explain a few of them to me?

Emma Smith (and yes that is my real name, scarily enough... hence why I prefer to go by Amaya!)
