It's the "Final Frontier" of getting rid of prejudice, isn't it? But when it's mentioned as an "abomination to the Lord", Christians are a hard lot to convince. I'm not gay, but like salvation, I don't know that people can just decide to be one way or another. Either they are or they aren't. Let God make the judgment calls, my job is to "love my neighbor"...in the right sense, of course!

Fear and ignorance. I for one don't beliave that homosexuality is what God intended, but I also believe that it does not make you an evil person to be gay. There are murders, rapists, and child molesters in the world -they are evil. I know lots of gay people (including my uncle) who are wonderful spirits. I can disagree with the lifestyle and still love my friends amd family. What goes on in thir sex lives is not my business and how God judges is them is between God and them!

I honestly believe it's because they fear that if it were "acceptable" to be gay, either they themselves or someone they know would come out of the closet, and that scares them to death.
They're scared their children might "turn gay" (as if that were possible) if it were "acceptable." They're scared that gay-ness might "rub off on them" if they had to deal with openly-gay people in business, at church, at the grocery store, etc. Sort of like how many whites in this country used to be afraid of touching blacks because they were afraid the skin color would rub off on them...
Sad.

Because people are stupid. Altough there are certain gay people who scare me, but that really doesn't have anything to do with them being gay. They just scare me.

I don't hate homosexuals. Just because I don't agree with their lifestyle does not mean that I hate them. There are plenty of straight people who lead lives that I don't agree with.
