So, when I was introduced to the Bible I read a childrens' Bible first, to get a real idea of what the stories were before looking at the details.

I can't afford to buy a childrens' book of Mormon (nor do I know if you can actually get one) but does anyone know any links online with basic BOM stories? Or (if someone has a lot of time on their hands) could anyone explain a few of them to me?

Emma Smith (and yes that is my real name, scarily enough... hence why I prefer to go by Amaya!)

I love the Scripture Scouts tapes and CDs for children. They go through the Bible - Old Testament and New Testament, and also the Book of Mormon, using a treehouse club with 3 children and a talking dog named Boo. The club acts out stories from the scriptures with songs. They were created by some of the most creative people in the Church, mainly Melanie and Roger Hoffman, Marvin Payne, Steven Kapp Perry, Janice Kapp Perry, etc. They are working on making a TV show of them now. You can check out the link below to find out more. Since you are in the United Kingdom, I would make friends with some more missionaries. I know as missionaries we used to give out children's Book of Mormon stories, illustrated, all the time because we worked with families. If you cannot find them anywhere in the U.K., contact me and I will send you one.

As others have indicated, there is a book for children called Book of Mormon Stories. It is illustrated and very brief. It covers most of the major "stories" from the Book of Mormon. It is produced by the church and can be purchased at deseret book for $8.50: http://deseretbook.com/store/product?sku=0183013

Here is a link to the primary manual that teaches the Book of Mormon. It shows the titles of all of the major stories. If you click the link and read the preparation section, it tells you which chapters contain that story. Unfortunately, it does not give you a summary.

I hope that this helps. If you are having trouble, feel free to read and e-mail me questions. If you haven't started reading the Book of Mormon yet, many of the stories are quite easy to follow.

I don't know of a "children's" book of Mormon, but when I was young we had a book with all the "main" BOM stories in it...I think you can buy them at Deseret Book or the church distribution center...they should be $5 - $10 I think.
There are also BOM story videos AND my little brother loves "Veggie Tales", they are Bible stories told by vegtables - it sounds weird but they are SO cute!

Hi,
For a simple, step-by-step program that can help your child learn to read visit this site: http://readingprogram.toptips.org

Learning to read at a young age is important for the development of the child. It helps them develop a better understand of their surroundings, allows them to gather information from printed materials, and provides them with a wonderful source of entertainment when they read stories and rhymes. Children develop at different rates, and some children will develop reading skills quicker than other children; however, what's important is that as the parent, you are keenly aware of your child's maturity and reading level to provide them with appropriate books and activities to help them improve.

It's possible to invest lots of time and money trying to find approaches to train your kids how to learn and enhance their studying skills. Is difficult to show a tiny child how to see, and also enticing them to learn is challenging in itself. However it does not have to be this way since you got assistance from the program https://tr.im/CRHnb , Children Learning Reading program.
With Children Learning Reading you can show your child how to split up seems and break words in to phonemes, an essential point as soon as your child is merely learning how to spell.
The studying process from Children Learning Reading program allows you for kids to read easily and properly, from easy words to phrases until they learn to read stories.

Yes we teach this song to our children. Jesus is the SON of God, just like he said he was in the Bible. He is not God, and he made this clear on many occasions. When Stephen was being stoned, he looked up and saw Jesus on the right hand of God. Not Jesus on his own right hand, but on the right hand of his Father. Jesus the Son. God the Father. Not the same being.
