...just because that book seems to anger christians so much, even though its fiction. Maybe they get mad because they know deep down that their Holy Bible is just as fictional.

Any other novels or short story collections you think should be in the running for the New Holy Bible? Lets hear suggestions...basing a religion on a bunch of myths and historical fiction seems to be all the rage!

vivekanand said that religion is God-realization and i believe that. that means that most of us are not religious because we are not self-realized souls. But how many of us believe that God can be seen? even our scriptures say that God is within us.

It says "Therefore, He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens." I'm not taking this out of context, I've read the whole chapter, but I'm trying to understand what this verse means.

JUST GOT THIS IN AN E MAIL I AGREE DO YOU????
This is an editorial written by a British citizen, published in a National newspaper He did quite a job; didn't he? Read on, please!

IMMIGRANTS, NOT BRITS MUST ADAPT.
I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on the 7th of the 7th we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Brits. However, the disgust about the attacks had barely settled when the "politically correct! " crowd began complaining about the possibility that our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to Britain, Our population is almost entirely made up of descendants of immigrants. (The Danes, Romans etc.) However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand. This idea of the Brits being a multicultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity. As Britons we have our own culture, our own society, our own language and our own lifestyle. This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH , not Indian, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language.
Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!
"Land of Hope & Glory" is our motto. This is not some Christian, right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If the 'Union Jack' flag offends you, or you don't like our QUEEN, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle. Our Laws give every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so!
But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our lifestyle our government, or our way of life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great BRITISH freedom,
THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.
It is Time for Gt.Britain to Speak up
If you agree -- pass this along;
if you don't agree -- delete it!
anon..
AMEN

I think if we all keep passing this to our friends (and enemies) it will also, sooner or later get back to the complainers, lets all try, please

I continually hear that Islam is a "religion of peace" and yet when a terrorist commits an act of violence in the name of Islam, there is no great outcry from the leaders of Islam disconnecting themselves from this violence. I have seen Muslim clerics who advocate violence against the "infidels" and "jews", but have never heard one who is critical of the continual acts of violence carried out in the name of Islam.

If Islam is a "religion of peace", then why don't they join the rest of the world in fighting terrorism rather than being silent?

It may be quicker to write that way, but jeez, it is so common for people to write it like that. If it weren't for Christ, we wouldn't even be celebrating anything!

I truly believe we can learn not to hate, at least not to hate each other. I believe that we can and should teach ourselves and our children. What are you feelings about this?

Alright, now, everyone knows their own opinion about it. Everyone has also heard the other side of the debate about as many times as there are years in eternity. Why do we keep this up? NO ONE is saying anything new about it and it seems as though there is nothing new left to say. Some are against it on the grounds of taking a human life, while others are for it on the grounds that a woman has a right to do what she wants with her own body. Now, without anyone defending their stance on this issue, can anyone truly be objective and discuss it like the adults we are?

Most of our emotions have a positive reason for existing. The only positive reason I can see for hatred and hating is if we hate violence, bigotry, intolerance, and ignorance. What are your thoughts on this? I believe hatred for the most part is taught to us by others.

If I believe in a man named jesus, and the messenger he was am I a Chrisitan? Now if I say I dont believe in the bible entirely, and have felt this way ever since I can remember, even as I sat in sunday school? Am I a lost Christian? Now I have the ability to put my hands on people and give them positive energy, and help heal their bodies, is this evil? I have seen ghosts, and I have pulled family members into my dreams when frightened, Am I a witch?
If so am I evil? I believe in the power of faith, and faith being many gods. I believe that god is in us, and therfore we are god. So am I being blashphemous.? I also believe in the metaphysical world of science? Am I a scientologist, which by the way they too believe in god as being more than limitations. So what am I confused.
If that is the case then why do I feel as though god just wants me to be who I am, and by embracing myself I embrace the word god.
What am I? What is it that I believe, when it is everything without limits.
