Alright, now, everyone knows their own opinion about it. Everyone has also heard the other side of the debate about as many times as there are years in eternity. Why do we keep this up? NO ONE is saying anything new about it and it seems as though there is nothing new left to say. Some are against it on the grounds of taking a human life, while others are for it on the grounds that a woman has a right to do what she wants with her own body. Now, without anyone defending their stance on this issue, can anyone truly be objective and discuss it like the adults we are?

Hard not to defend your own stance.
Anyway, I always thought the pro choice issue was kind of dumb. Really the choice was made when you had unprotetced sex. So abortion as birth control is dumb. Though you can use the fetal brain tissue for medical purposes since the alternative is stem cells and we aren't allowed to research that anymore.
As for instances when it wasn't a choice by the mother or her life is in danger (rape, ect.), then it is a medical and psychological issue that should be decided with the help of trained professionals.
Really the issue isn't abortion but the complete lack of common sense.

Considering I don't agree with abortion it doesn't bother me. Chances are it will never pass though and if it does there will likely be tons of cases of idiots trying to self abort rather then keeping their darn pants on.

It's hard for many to hear or even analyze opposing positions. I have analyzed peoples stance on "it's a human life", I disagree within the 1st and 2nd trimester, it is not a human life. It is a collection of cells. I only agree with abortion during the 3rd trimester if it's endangering the life of the mother.

Not quite right, 'The One'. A woman cannot do what she wants with her own body. If she tried to abort herself (UK) she would be charged with criminal abortion. If she got someone, other than an authorised doctor to attempt an abortion, they would both be charged with the abortionist also being charged with Grievous Bodily Harm. Personally, and as a man, I believe that a woman who has consensually conceived a baby and there is no danger to the baby or mother, it should be illegal to commit an abortion.

I think we have to examine the motives behind the answers. Those who reject abortion do it for what reason? Selfish or selfless? Those who accept abortion do it for what reason? Selfish or selfless? I've always found that the first gut response to a question is generally the right one. So when we consider that, what is your gut response to this question.....
Does an unborn baby constitute a life?
Whatever you might think of it, I've always found the bible to be a reliable source of information and reason.

I am sorry, what is to discuss? What is the point? No one will ever change my mind on this subject. On this issue, I have no objectivity.

Abortion is such a controversial, heated, emotional topic that I don't ever see the chance of what you suggest becoming reality. That's too bad, really.
