That my friend I do not understand. I can feel love, pity, compassion, empathy, sorrow, hope, anger, annoyance, and friendship. I do not understand hatred, abuse, extreme anger, intolerance, and greed.

WE all will die oneday and leave the world. How this affects us is what matters, how best can we change our lives and live with happiness is important. This way we may change the attitude of people who are near to us. Let us shed light to the people who mean to us. who knows we may influence the selfish also in the bargain. Let us play our role well.
People are selfish and hurt others because basically they are not happy from within, a person is selfish because they are insecure, they cannot trust tomorrow so they want everything for them selves and this become their life battle. they never find peace,it all about me! me!and Me! They can invest, save, and this becomes a compulsive behavior, even when they pray it is interesting to hear them, its a give me list, to make them feel better they say god give me the power so i can help others, give me this so i can....they will not say, give everyone the power, give peace to all. A selfish mind is selfish even when they are religious.
Why people hurt others? because they are hurt from within. They are in pieces. As kids they have been hurt hence they learn the language of hurting, it comes naturally for them. They need a lot of help in the form of psychotherapy.

Yes it happens. And everyone will say it should not happen. But I say it would keep on happening for ever. And the reason is that since we all know that life is not going to be there forever and hence we must live the life the way we like - if someone comes in between our way of living - we have to become selfish and may have to hurt other. This is the fact of life - you and I both follow the same practice - I have confessed it and will you????

Equilibrium.
Man, unlike his counterparts on this earth, has gone very high in intelligence. He/she thinks before doing anything where as other animals do everything out of instinct. So we have a long list of people who sacrificed their lives for the welfare of others. They remind us that we are much above the animals.
At the same time, we find people behaving in a way worse than animals. Their selfishness proves that we are much below the animals- if such people are to be called human beings.
The final result. Take the average of both categories, and we shall identify ourselves along with any other animal group.l

I think that some people do not believe in anything past this world. So if they do not have a fear of being judged in the end it doesn't really matter what they do or how they hurt others.

everybody thinks they will surely live for tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, next decade for sure ! that is the leela of mayA ! Thats why the everybody wants to take more and express their ego on others.
People are honey bees. they collect all the honey as much as they can selfishly - only to be taken by somebody else and in the process the bees die .

its very true that people have become so selfish & dont think twice befor hurting other. every one who has been hurt by others have to bear it. if we are great enough we can forgive if not then we too tend to pay back. so let us try to forgive.
"if some one hurt you for no fault of yours gorgive them thinking they are not happy with them self".
