I m a25yr old girl who was brought up as a catholic and still see myself as one but i never has my first communion or comfirmation.
im going to be getting married soon and have been trying to have my first communion lessons at church buts proving difficult because of my age and the fact that i am a fully grown adult wiith daily responsibilitirs which make it difficult to take the time out to attend these classes.

What shld i do? should i just go ith teh flow and pretend that i have gone through the necessary 'rites' .....?

If you have not done so already, go to your church and ask to talk to the adult education person. Explain your situation to that person. Maybe they can assign you a mentor that can work around your schedule.

It is important to fully understand the sacraments that you are going to receive so they are more menaingful to you. If you just pretend that you have already gone through the rites, you will miss out on the spirituality of the sacraments. Depending on what you already know and believe, you may not neeed much sacrament preparation

You're sounding like a student who wants a certificate without taking the course. If it's important to you, you should make the time to go through the required preparations. Yes, it's a hassle but it's part of the sacramental tradition. Your fellow Catholics believe in these sacraments and you should respect that belief.

If it's not all that important, why are you even considering it? You can just go to church and not come up for communion, no big deal. Or not go to church. What exactly are you seeking? Approval? Do the work.

talk to your priest. Do not just go with the flow. Often times individual teaching can happen but, alot of times it is just a reluctance to go to the classes. I would first of all really look at who and what the Holy Eucharist is and then once you know let nothing stop you from obtaining this treasure in the way you should with the blessings of the Church.

You will be sinning if you do that. Talk with the priest or the person involved with religious education.

you have to ask "should i play cannibal in a cult building, or shouldn't I"?

you actually have to ask yourself if you should partake in eating the flesh of your cult-god and drinking his blood?

this is one of the many reasons why i question the intellect of bible-believers.
