Some Clerics denounce terrorism, but it is difficult because they do not want to seem anti-Islam.
The problem here is that the Christian Crusades were taken as a standard for Islam. Also Christianity taught an "us and them" mentality that became a standard as well.
It is currently believed in Islamic societies that they should not associate with outsiders because it leaves them unclean. They do not even touch outsiders for this reason.
Their societies remained isolated long after the Christian Crusades ended. Therefore, these standards had no reason to change. Isolated societies learn and grow much more slowly than integrated societies.
Islamic societies also took the eye for eye speech literally and public beheadings took away their appreciation of life. Seeing a person die is tramatic. Seeing people die every day becomes normal.
Islam is a religion of peace, but the practice of violence was learned from the early Christians. It will take some time to stop that violence. I hope we have that time before someone uses a nuclear weapon.
Take care,
Troy

some Clerics denounce terrorism, notwithstanding it isn't basic because they do no longer opt to seem anti-Islam. the project right here's that the Christian Crusades were taken as a common for Islam. also Christianity taught an "us and them" mentality that grew to change right into a common besides. it is presently believed in Islamic societies that they ought to no longer go mutually with outsiders because it leaves them unclean. they do no longer even contact outsiders consequently. Their societies remained remoted lengthy after the Christian Crusades ended. consequently, those criteria had no reason to modify. remoted societies study and improve a lot extra slowly than integrated societies. Islamic societies also took the interest for eye speech actually and public beheadings took away their appreciation of life. Seeing someone die is tramatic. Seeing human beings die daily turns into favourite. Islam is a faith of peace, notwithstanding the practice of violence replaced into realized from the early Christians. this is going to make the effort to end that violence. i desire we've that element before someone makes use of a nuclear weapon. Take care, Troy

First of all every real muslim denounce all acts of terrorists - for in the Quran it is written clearly in the Holy Quran that killing 1 person is as bad as killing all of mankind.
Second of all, which Islamic scholar in his right frame of mind have u heard that he is advocating violence against nonbelievers. U must be a real fool, for Muslims are not against jews, just the fact that zionists have invaded unjustificably the holy place of palestine, for if they hadn't, and stayd at peace with the Arabs their wouldnt be terrorist attacks on innocent jews. And moreover what do u call this war on terror - an excuse for killing more of us, muslims - for u seem to kill much more civillians than real terrorists.
Thirdly, islam is a religion of peace, the little of it u know - ur ignorance almost made me laugh - yet I m so angry at u for making ridiculous comments on it as if u know all about it. Remember if Islam was not a religion of peace it would not have been the fastest growing religion in the world.
We muslims are peaceful - atleast those who know Islam and th Quran - we r ready to fight all those who put terror in the name of religion. We hate Alqaeda and all other groups near it, and more muslims (think of Pakistani and Iraqi forces, rnt they muslims?) fight the terrorists than all of America or Britain's army. It is just that u do not recognise our efforts - plz do. Peace be upon u and on all in this world........

Most do denounce it, they just don't make the news. Unfortunately
in our society it is the sensational that makes the news. Just like after 9/11 what made the news was a few people marching in the streets and celebrating, not the millions of Muslims and Arabs all over the world who denounced the attacks. That is the kind of society we live in.

It is very dangerous for a peaceful person to stand up to violent people. There are people who say that "might makes right" and that is clearly wrong, but it is easy for a person with a weapon to silence the sane voice of an unarmed person of peace. Especially if that peaceful person is also a public person. Subtlety is required.
In some of the places you mention- although you didn't say any place-names- it is the people with the weapons who make the rules. In the US, it is difficult for us to comprehend a lack of free speech or how military dictatorships can exist, but in much of the world, those in power are in power simply because they killed the other contenders.
It is in the relative safety of the US that we are able to hear people say that Islam is peaceful, because in the US it is possible to speak against violence without putting yourself at a lot of personal risk. I am glad that I live here, but I do see that it skews my perceptions of the rest of the world.

It is a fact that terrorism is not denounced by islamic clerics. In these circumstances, to say that islam is 'religion of peace' becomes ridiculous and no one believes in such statement. Resultantly, no one believe muslims as a whole.

Whats your measure of "silence"?
Anything which doesn't appear on your media you regard it as it never happened.
Do you think when muslims are being bashed so badly all over the western media, would anyone listen to what they say or give it the least amount of importance?
Does that mean they don't denounce it?
On the other hand, given the amount of information that is accessible to an individial today, he/she can easily verify if _most_ of the muslims are God abiding and loving people or most of them are terrorists. Somehow the media has managed to make people believe that ALL muslims are terrorists!
Also, Islam doesn't need to be defended by muslims, muslims need to defend themselves by laws of Islam. If every muslim practices his/her faith according to what Islam has prescribed, muslims would be the greatest people on this planet. One thing is for sure, as compared to previous generations, I have seen an awakening in the current muslim generation to strive in the way of God.

Some do, but anyone who calls Islam a religion of peace has not read the Q'uran. It is a religion of violence, intolerance and hatred developed by an angry pedophile whose rage against Judaism & Christianity sparked the birth of his own deification. Terrorism is not only an accepted practice - Muslims believe themselves to be richly rewarded for participating in this practice.
"Many of the followers of the Book wish that they could turn you back into unbelievers after your faith, out of envy from themselves, (even) after the truth has become manifest to them; but pardon and forgive, so that Allah should bring about His command; surely Allah has power over all things." - Sura 2:109
"And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter" - Sura 2, verses 191
"Do you not see that We have sent the Shaitans against the unbelievers, inciting them by incitement?" - Sura 19:83
"So when he brought to them the truth from Us, they said: Slay the sons of those who believe with him and keep their women alive; and the struggle of the unbelievers will only come to a state of perdition." - Sura 40:25

It is denounced.
IT JUST ISN'T COVERED BY U.S. MEDIA.
And there is a general feeling in the Muslim world that it is simply extremism and that there is no need to "apologize" or anything. But it is denounced. You kidding me? Extremists hate anyone who is not with them.

A lot of them do, but why should they have to come out and say it - surely people at large should *know* by now that this is not representative of Islam. Ignorance is not an excuse for anyone!
