Because they don't really know who He is and they don't try to find out.

Why is it that a lot of the people in this section are so full of hate for people?
The answer to that may very well answer your first question.

To say you don't believe in God, is admitting the existence of God. Think about it. How can you not believe in something that exists? Do you believe in love? You can't see love, but you experience it because you have faith that love exists. Same with God. Give it a try. Have a little faith.

You must be born again....
Don't forget. We were all of the world before being born again. Now we are in it. Not of it. Because we have been born again (of the spirit, given new thoughts and desires). Right now, when you speak to someone who not only doesn't believe, but doesn't want to believe, you are speaking a different language to them that irritates them. It rubs jagged on their conscience and they don't want to let go of that sin. It feels too good and they like it too much. And, when confronted with truth, it cuts at them and they have reflex response that comes out as hatred toward God. Because He convicts us of our wrongs (sins).
Be patient and kind (so much as it is up to you) to get along with everyone

I'm not so sure it's a hate of God more than it is a chance for them to rile up the Christians.

Their are many people in here who are religious fanatics who seem like they want to prove atheists wrong.I truly dont know how people can prove God exists.People have different beliefs so favoring your god when others believe in another makes you cocky in a sense.(For example,my religion is true, yours is false). Its the pride and arrogance that humans are known for.Being bias about other religions can create tensions between you and the person I guess your trying to convert.

I can honestly say that I don't hate him. I just don't believe in him. I am not a religious person and I do think some religions (I will not name any) a little bit overboard about believing in god and the bible.

Yeah, it's amazing that so many people are full of hate for an imaginary being, right? It's like hating Lex Luthor...

It is amazing is it? They don't believe in him but yet they hate him.
To hate other people's beliefs because believers want Godly morals shows that they can't conform and hate others who strive for it.

Not God so much as the people who claim to speak for God. They make such bizarre, irrational claims for the poor deity. It gives "him" a bad reputation.
