Quote:
The scientific theory is that the Universe started as a fluctuation of the vacuum. Such vacuum fluctuations make appear a small amount of energy, for a small time. This phenomenon is responsible for the existence of forces, that hold the Universe and matter together.

Normally the bigger the energy fluctuation, the smaller the time it is in existence.

Not so the Big Bang. That was a HUGE fluctuation. So big that a lot of energy came to appearance in the form of mass, elementary particles. These particles started expanding, before the vacuum could reclaim the energy.

And it is still expanding today. 14 billion years later.
End Quote

My comment: I believe in science, and the universe is 14 Billion year old, etc. However, the creation or start of the universe is a mystery. It seems unreasonable to say it was uncaused, or, to speculate without data or any evidence, as a science fiction writer would. Caveat Emptor.

Let us face this. Any direction must give way to overall orientation in order for entirety's formula to balance. Locally generated and isolated rules most culturally isolated generations grew up with disappear, or become extreme or abandoned. The best is kept from each, not shared by all. Yet each underlying reasoning remains unheeded by most. We do not partake within over all equation. Only our shells remain on foundation of quick sand. Yet when push comes to shove, most are stilll willing to clash, in defence of narrow orientation and claim mutual motivation, under lies. Still willing to stand behind, even blindly die for isolated and so-called freedom, tradition, belief, rapture, ceremony, scriture, constituion, reich, commonwealth, republic and / or fiefdom. Obediently holding reigns. Waving flags, quoting cliches and slogans, paying lip service, allowing or inflicting through omission, violence and destruction, while protecting inexcusable-ness
Can any deny our infliction?

Do you think it's ever possible not to have a biased interpretation of anything? Do you think someone can honestly sit down and write something without their own bias creeping in?

My last question was about how a biased school system is demonizing Christianity to the point where thousands are condemning the religion off of misplaced facts and gaping wholes in logic. People wrote in and actually claimed the system was unbiased.

If you say, well let's just present all the facts of the case because facts can't be biased I think you're wrong in your assumption. Facts themselves can be open to interpretation. More than that there are an infinite number of facts to every issue. You can't analyze an infinite number of facts so bias creeps in by your mere selection of facts to present.

But hey, this is just a biased writer talking about his own bias about biasness(not a word?).

Plato because he came up with the concept of heaven, Anselm because he (weakly) proved G-d's existence, Pascal because he advocated theism in general - not one specific religion, or Descartes because he challenged the very concept of there being a G-d? What do you think?

SOME people try to "blame" public schools for people being atheist. I went to a religious school growing up. When I went to college, I felt wronged by my upbringing because I was never taught about the rich diversity of the world and because I never learned points of view outside the Christian perspective. I started to see the wrongs in Christianity, started to see the hypocrites for what they were, and did not like feeling like a second class citizen as a woman. After 13 years, I still identify as an agnostic. I have a concept of a higher power, I just don't need the BS that some people try to throw in with it. So, with all the blame-placing going on, are religious schools at fault for people growing up to reject the brain-washing?

I do not have to agree with what you believe. I don't believe that I have been fanatical in my beliefs but because I don't agree with a certain number of people I am getting emails that call me a hate saturated bigot. I also just recieved one that told me 9/11 was not that bad compared to all the murders Christians have committed. So please, just because I am a Christian, do not assume I am a fanatical who is out to tell everybody else what is wrong with them.

This is mainstream Islam, in other words, most Muslims you ask about this will not deny its truth. In my experience, the most common reaction from Muslim woman is that they try to make a joke out of it or use it as some type of affirmation of their significance.

Why would Allah want men to know that mostly woman are going to hell? I mean, forget the absolute absurdity of this, on its face, lets just consider why Allah would even reveal this at all? I mean, does he want men to feel greater license to do wrong? Men do 99.99% of all murder right...

Romans 8:29-30 - Paul says:

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

II Peter 1:10

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We ought to work daily to answer the Creators calling. The Creator God Almighty called us - to do His will. He has a plan.

There is a beauty of the soul
Unseen with human eyes.
Far brighter than any star.
Clearer than sunny skies.
This is the jewel with us all.
Hidden away inside.
I am greatful to have glimpsed this gem.
That from the world you hide.
May you live your life in peace.
I would wish you untouched by tears
But I know that sorrow too
Accompanies these earthly years.
So may you always hold on to
The gem that is you,
And may throughout these years
It shine with beauty true.

I am about to be ordained, and my church has asked me what Bible I'd like as a gift. I plan to go into hospital chaplaincy right after divinity school, so want it to be a widely-accepted version that's easy to hear (NRSV, NIV, NASB). I'd like cross-referencing, and ideally, parallel-passage notes for the gospels. I do not want study notes or a large concordance within it to carry around. I also would like a full-sized version, because I will do some preaching and would like to read it from the pulpit. Finally, I'm looking for something in basic black leather. No NRSV I've found online has all these features. I found a wonderful NIV that meets all of them perfectly, published by Holman, but out of print now and unavailable. If you're a pastor or chaplain and have a working ministry Bible you really like, I would very much welcome your recommendation. Thank you!

what exactly is an atheist. I have an idea of what the definiton means but I do not want to assume anything out of respect. Now if it means to not believe in god, then do you have faith of any kind.
Please explain to me
I am a mother of 2, and I have faith in myself, I believe in the manifestation of my own world, and that the word god is just a definition to imply the complex meaning of what more is beyond our own existance
