I do believe the husband is the head of the household according to scripture. Meaning that the responsibility of the head of the household is not only to spiritually guard, but to be willing to sacrificially (by sacrificially I don't mean "human sacrifice" or the like) give of yourself to ensure the comfort and happiness of your partner and family.

Yes. God's Word tells us the authority line for the home. Ephesians 5: 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.Ephesians 5: 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Ephesians 5: 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; The husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church, So there are four responsibilities in the home. Christ the head of the body (the church), The husband head of the home, the wife to honor her husband and the children to obey their parents. Ephesians 6: 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Christ is the head of every household, and the man and woman within that household whether it be boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife is to be equal, not him ahead of the household, man loves his woman and vice versa
In saying this do not think that you have to be submissive to your husband , the only person you are to walk behind is Christ not man i.e. your boyfriend/husband

It is written:
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. - Galatians 3:28
In Christ, we are one - a male is no better than a female.
However, it is true that Christ is the head of the church - He is the Groom...and we (the body) are the bride.
A Christian marriage is a mystery...but represents or symbolizes Christ and His church. As such, one is the head, even as Christ is the head. And, yes, it is the husband who has this role.
The husband is to esteem his wife, edify her, do her only good...and even lay down his life for his wife...even as Christ laid down His life for us who believe.
It is a role, only...and the wife has her role, as well.
Roles are often abused, and when they are it is very ugly, unbiblical, and is an abomination unto the Lord. However, when we accept the 'roles' and live our lives unto the Lord, than His blessing falls upon us...and our relationships are that much sweeter and fulfilling.
In heaven, we will not be married...though we will all be worshipping the Lord God, to whom belong all glory, honor, and praise - forever and ever!
Amen!

Yes, that's how it is in my household.... (though the cats would dispute this!)
However, if my husband is the head of our household, I'm the neck... which turns the head... :-)
It's a practical thing, as much as religious- if I'm constantly taking charge, not letting him make decisions and stuff, I'd be stomping on his ego pretty badly, and I love him, and want him to be happy.

Christ is always the head of all things, as a catholic I always have the cross as the highest hanging decoration in the house.
I even put my allegiance to my faith before my family
but yes after him comes the husband

the simple answer is yes just like Christ is head of the church/ but with headship comes the responsibility of putting the needs of the other, in a biblical sense first. headship is to be used as Christ used it towards the 12 decibles. woman can asuume headshp and quite often do, but when doing so using chirstian prinicples should notify or symbol that in prayer to our father

So many good answers already...yes, the husband is the leader, and ultimately the one responsible for the family. Frees my time up and gives me a sense of security. My husband loves me very much and I never feel inferior to him at all. He treats me like a queen.
