Don't you sometimes feel a little scared that you can't quite admit whether you believe in God - I do. I am a spiritualist healer not from choice, I had a life threatening experience, at the age of 36yrs.and the gift was given to me then. I am 58yrs now, and very young at heart. All I can tell you is, that when I was at my most ill, I did go to the church on site at the hospital and throw myself down on the steps in front of the altar, I did feel I just wanted to die. I do have to live with Manic Depression - but I am alive, and so glad I am. I promise this story is true.

Of course. Does ALL of your spirituality come from your religion? Don't you find arts spiritual? Well, why should THAT be different for atheists? If "religion" and "spirituality" were the same, why should there be two different words for them?

I think that there may be a God. I would say that it is possible for an atheist to be spiritual..

We sure can - just not in a god - and we don't tend to use that word but ...

We can be spiritual about our families and friends, and children and country and music and art and nature and science and love and all kinds of other things.

Remember atheists just don't believe in god - don't read anything more into it.

Yes you can. "Atheist" if from the Greek atheos. "A"=without and "theos"=a god.

That's it. A person can be an atheist and still believe in lots of other unproven things. There are also religions which are atheistic--Jainism and Buddhism come to mind.

Yes. Buddhism is a great example, though you can be Buddhist and believe in God.

Spirituality comes in many forms. Mine comes from within.

no hence the reason for being an atheist. to be spiritual you have to believe in something greather than yourself, something/someone that has control over things you do not.

That's a contradiction. It is like asking you to draw a four sided triange, the notion itself is contradictory.
