Romans 8:29-30 - Paul says:

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

II Peter 1:10

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We ought to work daily to answer the Creators calling. The Creator God Almighty called us - to do His will. He has a plan.

Thanks Twoflowers,

The CALLING was predestinated. We all had and still have the freedom to choose or reject. you see...we can stumble.

This call is sincere on Gods part, but man is opposed to God and man turns his back on God, the call is not effectual. Man rejects this universal call. The sinners hear the bell of the gospel ringing in their ears daily but they cover their ears and go on to their own business. The Church becomes a place of religion instead of having a relationship with God.

Peace sister

Thank you Idaho Mike!

Matthew 22:14, " For many are invited (called) but few are chosen." The many refers to the general call of the gospel message. The few refers to the chosen ones, as the gospel message will be effectual to them, as they will be brought to repentance and faith.

Romans 8:28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

1 Corinthians 1:9 "God who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful."

1 John 3:1 "How great is the love of the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!."

God bless you brother.

Thanks Lane

Predestination IS a false doctrine (of men).

The "predetination" I'm talking about is the one Paul is talking about. No more, no less.

That IS Jesus (Paul spoke by the authority of Him).

god nose

Sorry if those Words offend you.

They're not mine. They're God's. I mean what he means. Ask Him.

Thank you TTC.

I appreciate your love for our Lord. It helps build my faith.

Remember our Lord said many are called but few are chosen. This calling is a holy call.
Heb 3:1. "Holy" implies the separation unto God. This call is living unto God. If we are still continuing to live in sin like before and pretending to be like Christians in the Church, then you are not called. The man who is called in his drunkenness, will forsake his drunkenness. If we continue in our sins and walk according to the pattern of this world as children of disobedience then you are still dead in our sins and you are not called. But if you we cry to the Lord and say, "Lord, I am trying my best to walk blamelessly in your sight, I know my obedience cannot save me and I hate sin, my desire is to quit sin and be close with you, help me Lord to be holy." If you have that repentant attitude, then you are called.

Thanks brother.

Scott,
What I'm talking about, is what Paul is talking about.

You'll have to disagree with HIM, not me. And he's speaking from God.

The "predestination" that you are speaking of is NOT what God revealed through Paul. That's what I'm talking about.

That doctrine that you're upset about has nothing to do with what Paul was talking about.

There are many who say that, I am now a Christian and I am free to do anything I want to, this is a Christian nation and we have our liberty and privacy. Remember God called the Israelites out from the slavery of the Egyptians. But when they went hardships and sufferings in the wilderness they wanted to go back to Egypt. If you are called you are not a slave to sin anymore, and are you willing to have fellowship in Christ? Are you willing to suffer for him? Are you willing to deny yourself and carry the cross?

If you are called then you are predestined. Your name is written in the book of life.

Make sure of your calling and election.

"Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things you will never fail, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:10)

Matthew 22:14
"For many are called, but few are chosen."

There is an external call- a summons to repentence and faith that is inherent in the gospel message. This call extends to all who hear the gospel. "Many" hear it; "few" respond.
The "called" who reject the invitation do so willingly, and therefore their exclusion from the kingdom is perfectly just. The "chosen" enter the kingdom only because of the grace of God in choosing and drawing them.

Are you saying only the call is predestinated and we still can heed or reject Gods election?
The Word is clear some are appointed to life and others not.
1 Peter 2:8
and“ A stone of stumblingAnd a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
John 6:44
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Well, if everyone is predestined, then there's no point in doing anything is there? If you're predestined to go to hell, then no ammount of piety is going to save you, while if you are one of the "Elect", no crime you commit will ever be terrible enough to keep you out of heaven. Thus all human endevours, including life itself, are rendered pointless.

Predestination is a false doctrine. Why not belief in the Jesus who said He came to save sinners?

I am forever renewing my mind and heart in Jesus through prayers, bible reading and music. My job is to follow His lead and not my own which is a full time job for me to not move ahead of Him

It's predestined. Far be it from me to try and thwart God's ordained destiny for me.
