I know most Catholics toe the line on this issue, but other Christian denominations don't seem to see the hipocracy of thier differing views.

Can you tell me what this quote means?

"Varying levels of perceived possibility leads to a conversational hiatus, when someone pooh-poohs an idea. It'll take your masterwork to get things in motion and prove that possibility is on your side."

It seems that if you ask a question on religion or ethics from the point of view of an atheist with a view to gaining peoples oppinions and promoting discusion, many of the answers are from irate religious people who "pity" you or hate you because you have different beliefs. I assume they report abuse because they are offended by someone having a different view which questions thiers, although surely the point of discussion is to express your own oppinions, listen to those of others and pick the most intelligent or interesting to think about further.

Do you think us atheists should start treating them as they do us and reporting them for abuse either on the grounds of having beliefs which question ours, or for simple arrogance and intent to offend?

Why do ppl say Christians think they're better than everyone else...that's not true...you can have Jesus too, if you don't want him, I'm still your friend, I won't hate OR judge you. I will move on...I will be there for you, even if you hate me, I will still care about you. If you refused Jesus, u made a decision- I RESPECT YOUR DECISIONS. It was your choice. I will treat you the same as I always have. I will always love you, no matter who you are, no matter what you've done; I mean that will all sincerity...SO WHY DO YOU HATE ME?

Several years ago in a park near my home there was these kids that were having an outdoor Karate practice, they looked so cute in their little white robes. They were 6 or 7 years old..not much older...as they were going through their exercises I noticed some boy's rode by on their bikes and were yelling and mocking them, they were saying things like...waaaaaa, yaaaaa they were mocking these kids, as I sat there and watched this scene unfold I wondered why they would mock and make fun of these kids...was it jealousy, envy, it really looked and felt like hate, maybe it was insecurity...maybe even a self-hate or they hated that someone didn't do for them what someone was doing for these kids.

What do you think it was with those kids that day?

And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

I wonder also what the high priest thought

when the fancy temple was destroyed at the time Jesus died

I'm thinking particularly about the younger grades where we can have a real influence on these young lives. Personally I’m thinking about going back to school and getting a degree in education.

If you are not a Christian feel free to butt out.

Basically I'm an ex-christian, because I began to doubt the validity of the Bible and of the whole Jesus story. But, I'm giving it a chance to be proven. But how do you prove something that happened 2000 years ago?

Condrum: Months of limited freedom of pregnant woman vs. Life of child. Its sucks all the way around.

The fetus is a life, only uneducated people argue otherwise, the issue is whether its a "viable" life. In my mind the answer is clear but I understand why theres a debate and I wonder how God, if he exists, could even allow such a dilemma.

I mean, imagine a poor trailer park junkie. She pregnant but doesnt feel the humanity or signifcance of the tiny cell mass in her belly. Not knowing who the father is and not having the means or maturity for care, she gets the abortion. Sure, its a killing in the technical sense but how culpable is she and why did God allow such a dilemma in the first place?

The dilemma also implies God is a sexiest. I mean, this is not a dilemma men will have to face.

All this being said, human life is the most precious thing humans can know. In fact its all there is, theres nothing else. Abortion therefore should be banned... I loathe the dilemma.
