This is a nonsensical question as it is highly unlikely that an atheist would want to sit through seminary school to learn what would be necessary for him to become a pastor.

This doesn't surprise me at all. The modern-day "pastor" cannot be found in the new testament. These are people who are trapped by the fact that all their education and work experience has qualified them for one job, and they are no longer (nor have they ever been) fit for that job. IMO, though there are many good people aspiring to and attempting to perform the job of modern day pastor, none of them are qualified. This is not a job Jesus ever assigned to men. Jesus did not talk about "under-shepherds." He said, "I am the Shepherd of the sheep." Think about it; the modern day pastor cannot be an ordinary brother in the assembly. He has to be perfect. If he's struggling with pornography, can he ever admit this to the other brothers? What if he's constantly tempted to siphon off a little from the church offering? Someone hands him a $50 to put in the bucket, for example, and he'd really like a new fishing reel but he's a little short. Big struggle for him, but however he finally decides, can he ever ask for counsel and support from the body for this personal temptation? What if he's having trouble in his marriage, or his daughter takes up with a sleaze or his son is ADHD and always climbing around the church building like a little unruly monkey? This is not a position ever intended to be filled by a mere human. On top of all this, the pastor is expected to deliver hard-hitting sermons that step on toes -- but not the toes of the big contributors or the more powerful deacons. He is the star who draws people into the church, however if he doesn't both deliver and toe the line, he's liable to be voted out at the next community meeting. So he's got to be a man-pleaser because God doesn't get a vote at these things. But if he's a man-pleaser, he's not doing his job . . . . Impossible. As for the atheist pastors, why should they care if they're using their imaginary vision of "god" to fleece the flock? For them there is no right or wrong, so what difference does it make? One more reason to meet the biblical way, though it's harder to do and harder to find. We have no pastor but Jesus and we minister to one another as equals, both men and woman. We love one another and submit to one another in love and follow our Lord together. Yes, we have leaders, but they are what they are because that's just what they are. No one elects or pays anyone to do anything. We each do whatever God gives us to do.

If an atheist didn't believe in God, then he would have no reason to become a pastor. Pastors believe in God and preach the Good News to all.

Yes, of course, all sin is displeasing to God, which is why he sent his Son to die for us sinners. This kind of thing does unfortunately happen; no pastor is immune to sin. Even David in the Bible who was called "a man after God's own heart" had sex with a woman who was not his wife and then arranged to have her husband killed.

Pastors are anointed by God and ordained by man. You would be able to see through him just like some of those televangelist you see on TV.

Absolutely it would displease God. And frankly it does happen, so beware. There are many false prophets of God and more to come. So keep your eyes open.

There are many agnostics that are pastors. Why? I don't know. Maybe it's the wolf in sheep's clothing thing.

Reminds me of Romans 2:5 "But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God"

I'm an ordained minister and I'm a nihilistic atheist with chaos mage tendancies, a follower of Fenrir Wolf, and bastard of Sehkmet.
And I don't believe in magic, the norse mythology, or the Khemetic faith.
Go figure. :)
