Basically I'm an ex-christian, because I began to doubt the validity of the Bible and of the whole Jesus story. But, I'm giving it a chance to be proven. But how do you prove something that happened 2000 years ago?

Jesus Christ is proof enough.
Jesus Christ is the only true and living God!

“6But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” I Corinthians 8:6.

The God of The Holy Bible is the only true and living God. In the Old Testament times of The Holy Bible God was known as Jehovah God. According to Clarence Larkin in his book, Dispensational Truth, 1920, page 47, Published by Larkin's estate, God went by seven “Jehovah God” names:

“1. JEHOVAH-JIRESH-”The Lord will provide.” Genesis 22:13-14 That is, provide a sacrifice. 2. JEHOVAH-RAPHA-”The Lord that healeth.” Exodus 15:26. 3. JEHOVAH-NISSI-“The Lord our Banner.” Exodus 17:8-15. 4. JEHOVAH-SHALOM-”The Lord our peace.” Judges 6:23-24. 5. JEHOVAH-RA-AH-”The Lord my Shepherd.” Psalms 23. 6. JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU-”The lord our righteousness.” Jeremiah 3:6. 7. JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH-“The Lord is present.” Exodus 48:35. It is only as we know the meaning of the different titles of God that we can understand their significance. The word for Christ as “Creator” is “ELOHIM,” for Christ as “revealer and Redeemer” is JEHOVAH (translated Lord).”

In the New Testament Jehovah God is revealed to be a Trinity-God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God The Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19: “Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing then in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Today Christians worship Jehovah God in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. (Most Jews still worship God as Jehovah God.) Jesus Christ, Jehovah God in the Old Testament, came to the Jews as their Messiah during New Testament times but most of them rejected Him. Christians know that Jesus Christ is the only true and living God. Christians know that the word “Lord” for Jesus Christ means Jehovah God.

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”

Jesus Christ Christ is the only way to God the Father and to heaven. There is no other way to get to heaven. There is no other true and living God.
All other so-called gods are false gods. They are not real . They do not exist. They are actually Satan or his demons disguised as gods. From the beginning Satan wanted to be as God. In order to to capture the souls/spirits of the masses he now does the best he can to be God by being a god to as many as he can be by appearing to be a god in different forms to different groups of people. Now the best Satan can do is counterfeit gods, religions, and faith in them. They appear to be the genuine articles but they are false. They are phony. They are bogus. The more false gods he can create the more souls/spirits he can capture for himself and take them to hell to be with him forever in eternity. All false religions who worship false gods were created by Satan. Allah for the Muslims. Confucius for the Chinese. Buddha for the Buddhists. ETC.

Christians know Jesus Christ as the Son of God who was sent to earth by God the Father to become a man to die for the sins of the whole world. Christians know Jesus Christ is the only true and living Lord God. (Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus {that Jesus is Lord} and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believed unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”) Christians know that the blood that Jesus Christ shed at Calvary is the only thing that can forgive, remove and cleanse them from all their sins. Christians know that they must repent of (turn from) their sins to Christ. (Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” and Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”) Christians know that they must ask Jesus Christ to come into their heart/lives to live there forever. (John l:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to come sons {children} of God, even to them that believe on his name.”) Christians know they must give up their sins and live in obedience to Jesus Christ the rest of their lives. Christians know that when they die they will go to heaven to be with Jesus Christ forever. Christians know that all of this is a life lived by faith. Is all this true of you? Are you a Christian? If not, why not become one today.
The Holy Bible in Hebrews 11:6 says “But without faith it is impossible to please him (God); for he that cometh to God must believe (have faith) that he (God) is, and that he (God) is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (God).” Parentheses mine!
By faith, acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the only true and living God. By faith, acknowledge you are a sinner in need of the forgiveness that Jesus Christ offers. By faith, turn from all your sins to Jesus Christ and ask Him to come into your heart/life to live there forever. By faith, give your heart/life to Jesus Christ to live for Him the rest of your life. All of this is what is meant when the Lord Jesus Christ said: “Jesus answered, and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (go to heaven).” You were born physically into your earthly family. To go to heaven you must be born again spiritually into your heavenly family, God's spiritual family.
Salvation is a free gift. You cannot work for it. You cannot be good enough to earn it. You must, by faith, receive it as a free gift. (“8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.”) Ephesians 2:8-9. If you never have, do it today. This is my prayer for you.

I am a former Christian. I loved being a Christian. I loved Jesus and I loved the Bible. I used to love witnessing to non-believers and loved defending my belief in (the Christian) God and orthodox/conservative Christianity. Then one day someone challenged me to take a good, hard look at the foundation of my beliefs: the Bible. I was stunned by what I discovered.

1. The Bible is not inerrant. It contains many, many errors, contradictions, and deliberate alterations and additions by the scribes who copied it. The originals are lost, therefore we have no idea what "God" originally" said. Yes, its true---Christians can give "harmonizations" for every alleged error and contradiction, but so can the Muslims for errors in the Koran, and Mormons for errors in the Book of Mormon. One can harmonize anything if you allow for the supernatural.

2. How do we know that the New Testament is the Word of God? Did Jesus leave a list of inspired books? Did the Apostles? Paul? The answer is, no. The books of the New Testament were added to the canon over several hundred years. Second Peter was not officially accepted into the canon until almost the FIFTH century! So why do all Christians accept every book of the New Testament as the word of God and reject every non-canonical "gospel"? Answer: the ancient (catholic) Church voted these books into your Bible. Period.

There is nowhere in the OT or the NT where God gives men the authority to determine what is and what is not his Word. If Second Peter was really God's Word, the entire Church should have known so in the first century.

3. Who wrote the Gospels? We have NO idea! The belief that they were written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is based on hearsay and assumptions---catholic tradition. Protestants denounce most of the traditions of the Catholic Church but have retained two of the most blatant, evidence-lacking traditions, which have no basis in historical fact or in the Bible: the canon of the NT and the authorship of the Gospels.

The only shred of evidence that Christians use to support the traditional authorship of the Gospels is one brief statement by a guy named Papias in 130 AD that someone told him that John Mark had written a gospel. That's it! Papias did not even identify this "gospel". Yet in 180 AD, Irenaeus, a bishop in FRANCE, declares to the world that the apostles Matthew and John and the associates of Peter and Paul---Mark and Luke---wrote the Gospels. But Irenaeus gives ZERO evidence for his assignment of authorship to these four books. It is well known to historians that it was a common practice at that time for anonymously written books to be ascribed to famous people to give them more authority. For all we know, this is what Irenaeus did in the case of the Gospels.

The foundation of the Christian Faith is the bodily resurrection of Jesus. If the story of the Resurrection comes from four anonymous books, three of which borrow heavily from the first, often word for word, how do we know that the unheard of, fantastically supernatural, story of the re-animation of a first century dead man, actually happened??

Maybe the first book written, "Mark", was written for the same purpose that most books were written in that time period---for the benefit of one wealthy benefactor, and maybe it was written simply as an historical novel, like Homer's Iliad; not meant to be 100% factual in every detail, but a mix of true historical events as a background, with a real messiah pretender in Palestine, Jesus, but with myth and fiction added to embellish the story and help sell the book! We just do not know for what purpose these books were written!

I slowly came to realize that there is zero verifiable evidence for the Resurrection, and, the Bible is not a reliable document. After four months of desperate attempts to save my faith, I came to the sad conclusion that my faith was based on an ancient superstition; a superstition not based on lies, but based on the sincere but false beliefs of uneducated, superstitious, first century peasants.

Christianity is mainly based on hope, faith and trust. Askyourself why you feel doubtful, did you know that there have been stories that the devil can infiltrate your mond and cause you to have serious doubt in your faith just to cause a rift between you and God? If you were a true christian then you obviously know that Jesus had to undergo temptation from the devil if not read about it in yo bible. The only thing anyone can really tell you is to read the bible and have some yrust in God. Something bad may have happened in your life to cause you to doubt him but he will always be there for you.

I've never understood the obsession with proof (after all spirituality is about the mystery of living, not about Oprah's definitive 12 step guide to living.) The beauty of religion is ripped away when the vulgarity that is the demand for analytical spirituality comes into it.

That said, there's little reason to doubt that the general jist of the gospel narrative is true, for a lot of reasons; there's a certain embarassment factor in having one's religious leader killed - the early Christians would not have gone about boasting that their leader had been killed unless it actually happened... and unless they actually saw meaning in it.

(And then there's the fact that the Roman historian Tacitus does mention Jesus's execution under Pilate during Tiberius' reign.)

There is "NO" proof and those who "claim" there is are not telling the truth. If there was proof there wouldn't be the need for faith. Christianity is a "faith based" proposition plain and simple.

Jesus said of the leaders in his day only a evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign and no sign would be given except that of jonah being in the belly of the whale 3 days and three nights so would the Son of Man be in the belly of the earth. In jewish time was reconded sondown to sundown and any part of a day was considered a "Day" so Friday, Sabbath, and Sunday were three days. Nobody can hand you faith on a silver platter. I CAN direct you to study the Resurrection. If that can be proven historically, all else falls into place. Hint: A number of ex-atheists converted to Christianity in just this manner.

First off you should be asking if God is real not Christianity. Christianity comes from a Greek word meaning Christ like.
That being said, It all comes down to Faith.

John 20:29 (King James Version)
29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

To ask for proof is a difficult question. I haven't seen but I believe. You just have to have faith.
I pray that you find faith.

All of God's Blessings, Guidance and Love to you

I'm just wondering what religion are you now? You want PROOF? Jesus is alive thats the greatest proof you have, unlike other prophets that are dead. Why do you need proof to believe something? Jesus said to believe and trust in him and have faith that he is alive.
If you want proof, why dont you kneel down and pray and ask God to show you the way, ask God to proof something to you so that he has answered your prayer.
But remember, you have no right to put God to test.
