Any prophecy that actually came true, and for which there is evidence that would stand up in a court case?

I keep hearing on this site people saying such things as, "Christians are the most immoral people", or "Christians are the causes of every war". Why? I don't see it at all! Someone please explain.

Since you can't see or prove evolution, does that make it false?

Have you ever studied evolution?

Do you know that Darwin was not an atheist?

Do you think evolution is a probability?

*Answers to any of these questions will be fine, you don't have to answer them all. Also, don't post rude statements, I am an adult, not a child, and you don't even know what I believe, so don't be negative. Rude answers will get a thumbs down and will be reported. Thanks!

I mean if there was a guy today raising the dead, walking on water, born of a virgin, and performing miracles we would write down every word, as he spoke it (we'd probably record it and transcribe it later, but same idea).

Why did it take hundreds of years to compile the bible? Even if you worship Jesus, don't you think some things may have been lost or mistranslated (like his wife Mary?)

And even then , the originals are lost, only translations of translation remain. Why do you worship each mistranslated word?

In the Bible, there seemed to be two basic proofs for God:
1. The wonders of nature
2. Miracles

Today, science explains the process of many of the "wonders of nature." It doesn't make them any less impressive, but a lot of the "It must be God!" factor is lacking nowadays.

So, what about miracles? In the Old Testament, we had the Ten Plagues, the Parting of the Red Sea, the Sun Standing Still, the Earth opening up and swallowing evildoers. In the NT, Jesus performed healings, raising of the dead, his own resurrection.

Now, it's been 2,000 years. What miracles or other proof do we have? I know that "it is by faith that we are saved." And, I know that "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Is that really it? Am I supposed to just believe what's written down a long time ago? History has been laden with superstition and countless religions. Historicity of some of the people, places, and general events are not proof. Why believe?

Is there actually some evidence to support one of these beliefs?

OK, what if God want you to follow him because he loves you but there is no reward such as heaven and no punishment such as hell. My Question really is that do you believe because deep inside you are a really good person and really feel your God's love and want to be a good person, or is it because you think being good gain you an entry into heaven or in case there is a hell? Will you still be a beliver if it is just an option to be with God but you will never get rewarded or punish if you choose to not to follow God?
Basically, will you choose to leave God if he doesn't provide anything to you at all?

You are my witnesses,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘even my servant
whom I have chosen...’” Appropriating this verse for themselves, the Jehovah’s
Witnesses believe that out of all the religious groups on planet earth, they alone are
chosen by God and have been deemed His “witnesses.”36
The Biblical Teaching. In context, Isaiah 43:10 is referring strictly to Israel
as a collective witness to God’s majesty, authority, faithfulness, and truth. This is
in marked contrast to pagans who cannot witness to such attributes in their false
gods. Israel as a witness was to testify that Yahweh is the only true God.

Could somone please explain it to me?

Thing's i have a problem with:
-Gen 1:26
-Was Jesus with God durring the creation? Was Jesus God durring the Creation? Did Jesus create or did the Father create the world.
-Did Jesus pray to himself?
-Jesus's Baptisim... Why all the trickery if Jesus was the Father as well as the Holy Spirit?
-Stephen seeing Jesus on the Right hand of God
-When Jesus was born, and couldn't talk, couldn't walk,etc... was he still all powerful?

I just don't get it... it's all very vauge to me. Can somone please explain it to me in a way that it will make sense?

I am trying to get an general idea about a certain topic and would like as many people to respond as can. Please be honest, lol! We have idelistic views and we live reality. I'm pretty sure of the idealistic views of this situation, but I'm more interested in the reality of it.
If you came across a situation where you saw a Muslim woman in a headscarf who was being harassed or hassled by someone, say a male, what would your reaction be? Would you ignore the situation because it's none of your business? Would you join in and laugh and mock because since she's a Muslim she deserves it? Would you speak up for her because everyone has the right to live their lives and be who they are? What would you do?

Thanks for answering!

I know that feeling you have, that missing piece in your life. I had a father that was an abusive drunk beyond belief. If that is you I'd like to share with you what I've learned. First, it's not your fault and there is nothing wrong with you. I know the fear of having children and the fear you will be become what you hate and become abusive, that's a lie. I have rasied 3 beautiful children that walked in love and peace everyday they lived at home. The key is to give them what we didn't get..LOVE, love them like crazy, love them lavishly..love them without hesitation and I promise you it will be returned..FEAR NOT! Give them exactly what you craved, not money, they want your time...no kid ever grows up talking about Dad & Mom's money...they will remember your kindness, your time and your overflowing love for them...make them feel how special they are..GIVE out of the pain we all knew so well!

Don't live in FEAR...you can break this cycle!
You know what they need...what we needed!

Prophet Einstein didnt rejected religious conceptions of God but was still a theist. Prophet Darwin however cracked the code. He discovered that there was no design and Einstein died trying to find a non-existant design.

So, although I love Prophet Einstein, I must chose Prophet Darwin as the best, although both are great Prophets as they were not pedophiles or warlords or Muhammad like in anyway.

Wether you agree with my world view or how I present it, many people agree with me and read my questions, some have based moral decisions on my guidance, some have changed world views or considered a world view change because of my question.

Wether you like me or not, I am one of several minor celebrities here in the yahoo answers religion and spirituality section.

I believe I have a pulpit. I have never intended to steer people to God, but have in fact made many people crack open a Bible.

One man emailed me and told me to rebut what I was saying he had to open a Bible for the first time in 20 years.

One atheist girl actually bought a Bible to keep up with me.

Who really benefits from the power of the pulpit here in yahoo answers religion and spirituality section?

But, when asked to prove that God/Jesus doesn't exist they don't have any proof ... but then they try to criticize us for quoting scripture but they have nothing original to pinpoint their belief in the "non-belief" ... weird and funny, isn't it, indeed?

In my adult life the best criticism comes from the Agnostic world view, not the theist, in my humble opinion.

It's been 2 millenia.

Have any of you faithful ever though about how easy it would be to convince a bunch of uneducated, unscientific people you were the son of god.

When you think about Jesus making water into wine, might that have just been a switcheroo behind a curtain or something and the people of the day believed.

I think God would reveal himself to us for real if he really existed and wanted us to be saved.

Muslims claim to believe in "all the prophets" so I dont know why they reject Prophet Darwin.

"Its JUST a theory man!" -- Dufuss!! You use the term "theory" in the literary sense, no scientific sense. A theory in science, is today, highest on the pecking order.
