In the Bible, there seemed to be two basic proofs for God:
1. The wonders of nature
2. Miracles

Today, science explains the process of many of the "wonders of nature." It doesn't make them any less impressive, but a lot of the "It must be God!" factor is lacking nowadays.

So, what about miracles? In the Old Testament, we had the Ten Plagues, the Parting of the Red Sea, the Sun Standing Still, the Earth opening up and swallowing evildoers. In the NT, Jesus performed healings, raising of the dead, his own resurrection.

Now, it's been 2,000 years. What miracles or other proof do we have? I know that "it is by faith that we are saved." And, I know that "faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Is that really it? Am I supposed to just believe what's written down a long time ago? History has been laden with superstition and countless religions. Historicity of some of the people, places, and general events are not proof. Why believe?

Once I found a hundred bucks on a mountaintop, about 10 years ago; in the middle of nowhere, not at a ski resort or anything. I was literally in the boonies, I couldn't believe it......

Not really a miracle though, but goddamn WHAT a coincidence!.

There is tons of empirical evidence in well documented studies recorded in academic journals demonstrating the proof of miracles. These are outside of the catholic proofing of miracles accorded to various saints. I would add that the devils advocate is a tougher judger of miracles. My self i saw an infant born with two holes in his heart and rushed to a big hospital, when the cardiac surgeon prepared for surgery he had another exray taken and became angry to see that there were no holes...a prayer group had been started and to this day the parents have both sets of exrays and only one explanation...

I've walked on water, raised the dead and was born of a virgin.

But noone listens to me. God (my father) told me to tell you all that the end is near and you must reject religion.

I once levitated. Does that count? Oh, and I raised a guy from the dead. Almost forgot that one.
