I keep hearing on this site people saying such things as, "Christians are the most immoral people", or "Christians are the causes of every war". Why? I don't see it at all! Someone please explain.

If I told you that you were going to hell, do you think you might find that a tad on the offensive side?

It's called "experience", babe. You saying you don't see it is like a non-black saying he just does not see all that much evidence of racism. It's all around you. Try a few examples:

1. "Reverend" Fred Phelps leads his church members to a funeral for a honorable American soldier killed fighting for his country and they stand there screaming and cursing and waving signs saying the soldier's death is God's punishment.

2. "Reverend" Pat Robertson says 9/11 is the fault of a whole raft of minorities - and not just gays.

3. Christians who howl that this agenda or that special interest group or "those gays" or "those Bush bashers" (on and on and on) are undermining traditional marriage have the highest divorce rate among all groupings of Americans!

4. At least twice a week we see headlines somewhere in the country about a "pastor" being caught sexually abusing young boys.

5. Congressman Foley is but the tip of a monstrous iceberg - lawmakers patting themselves on the back, like he did, for doing so very much to protect the innocence of children while themselves abusing children - and covering up for other politicians doing the same (You listening, Dennis Hastert?).

6. I've personally heard untold numbers of protestant "pastors" uttering the foulest of lies regarding the Catholic church (I'm NOT Catholic, by the way) such as pretending that the confessional is where Catholic children learn evil ways.

There ya go, kiddo. Six examples...and believe me, I could sit here all bloody NIGHT coming up with more! You call these people moral? If so, you ain't got a clue what morals are! But then, Christians never are any good at removing the logs from their own eyes...

Because they do or are or other.

Dont look at your surroundings. Go out in the world somewhere in a third world country and look at what christians and muslims are doing to masses of people.

That is looking down on a non christian or non muslim. That is telling them that their religion is not good enough according to muslim or christian standards. That is why people are feeling humiliated and trodden upon.

How can anyone have this attitude that I will come to help you with my money but you have to convert to my religion? Isnt that telling them that your religion and god are not good enough because see what we have and see what you have.

But muslims and christians are thieves. This is not abuse or slanderous.

It is the truth. The british stole billions from non christians and the muslims did the same to non muslims.

Read history.

That is why we have no accountability and punishment in the world for such massive crimes. Who is going to blame whom when the powerful christians and muslims are thieves and other things.

Because, there are some Christians that look down, are mean and nasty... And, like with any group, the bad ones are always the loudest and most remembered.

And I don't think I've seen anyone say Christians are the cause of every war. But they do say Religion is... though, it may not be EVERY war... it most certainly has the majority of wars.

Christians are the causes of every war
EXTREMIST Christians have caused many wars (The Crusades & WWII)

Christians are the most immoral people
Not immoral, though some do act very hypocritical at times (i.e supporting the death sentence and opposing abortion at the same time)

Why do some non-Christians feel that Christians look down on them
About 15% of the Christians I have met have respected my Buddhist beliefs...

Personally, I try to avoid labeling all of any faith one way. The problem I have a problem with a portion of Christians is they refuse to let anyone have faith in another God or disagree with their faith. When heavily faced with comments of "You're going to hell for believing that" or "That belief is flat out wrong", it is hard to like the people or their faith when they are shoving it at you in such a matter. To me the true Christian knows and remembers the teachings of Christ and lives them every day of their lives. Those are the people I can respect. It is when they claim to be Christian and disregard those teachings and choose to hate instead, for what ever reason, that many of us find it easy to label the religion by the actions of the followers as hateful and mean. Many of us non-Christians do not wish to convert anyone to our way of thinking, we just want to be allowed to believe differently. When this desire is fought against by Christians, it reflects badly on the religion itself.

The word I think you are looking for darling is stereo typing. They think all Christians are bad, well then all Catholics are bad, All Muslims are bad, ALL mormons are bad, and for that matter, all the presidents have been bad. It is an ignorant way of attacking believers, but only the quick to anger can take them seriously. They are here arguing their side of the truth, when we are defending ours, and somehow, WE cause wars. I doubt anyone on this site has the ability to wage war. So let's get serious over here, and talk real.
Love is awesome, love is utmost, love is God's.

The people who have hurt me the most in life were Christians. They hurt me the most because I trusted them to be kind to me. I've been hurt by non-Christians, but I didn't expect anything from them.

How about the cool indifference from Jehovah's Witnesses toward non-believing relatives?

some Christians additionally look down on believers of different branches of Christianity that's in simple terms the way some anybody is - There are consistently severe human beings in all religions some think of "they are top and anybody else is faulty" it quite is not common to alter a Closed innovations, - they only can not understand that anybody could think of in any different case from they, except something is faulty with them. so they're going to say issues like "i'm going to Pray for you" to your face i could never pretend to believe. concept in Santa Claus is okay, he's or become an previous Pagan god Of wintry climate, previous gods with New names Little transformations Be genuine to your self never bow to religious Bullying

You are not alone in this question. It just goes to show how screwed up our world is that so many are so lost to God's Grace and Salvation. Don't give up on them - stand firm in what you believe in. As long as we continue to reach out to others with pure hearts what they think really does not matter in the big picture. If they choose to not believe then they are in fact choosing death for eternity. We can't force anyone to believe - but we can live our lives for Christ to the best of our ability.
