Several years ago in a park near my home there was these kids that were having an outdoor Karate practice, they looked so cute in their little white robes. They were 6 or 7 years old..not much older...as they were going through their exercises I noticed some boy's rode by on their bikes and were yelling and mocking them, they were saying things like...waaaaaa, yaaaaa they were mocking these kids, as I sat there and watched this scene unfold I wondered why they would mock and make fun of these kids...was it jealousy, envy, it really looked and felt like hate, maybe it was insecurity...maybe even a self-hate or they hated that someone didn't do for them what someone was doing for these kids.

What do you think it was with those kids that day?

Jealousy, a desire to bully or exalt themselves, roar of the group, mischieviousness, knowing they could get away with it, perversity gleaned from immaturity and lack of values. or maybe just a passing need to make fun of something they didn't understand.

I agree with you. It is envy (jealous), hate, self-hate ... mostly immaturity. But, most times in insecurity.

just plain old mean spite. Kids can be cruel because they learn it from their environment. Kids despise what they do not understand.
