You said "average" .... in most cases they are provided a parsonage... and utilities are paid.

95% of the "average" pastors in this country are bi-vocational, they Pastor the church and have a regular 40 hour a week job.

Sorry Isis that is not average. I have been a pastor for 8 years and have met thousands around the country. And none come even close to that.

There is no average. Some churches barely get by and the pastor has to work out in the public and may get a small amount from the church body. Some churches are mega churches who could afford to pay a million if they wanted. Its usually voted on by the members or elders.

We are fortunate to have a full time Pastor. She makes aprox. $35,000/yr and has a housing allowance. In our denomination this is above average. Most of our pastors have full time jobs outside of the church and recieve a stipend that assists with educational expenses, licenses and garments and some gas.

Hi,
Like mentioned previously, prob around 35-70k/year.
Considering the responsibility, and the "behind the scenes" accountability at all times....that is fair pay.
a 19 year old behind a laptop can make that in the same time.
Or say....1.6 BILLION DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING LIKE FACEBOOK.(22 YEARS OLD I THINK).
You every deliver a sermon? It is not simple. A 1 hour sermon is equivalent to about 5-8 hours of intensified labor/work.

My Pastor works a full-time job outside of church. Our money that the members give to the church goes to pay the bills of the church and to feed and help those in need at church.
