hmm... interesting question. i'd have to go with religion as a more structured organization and spirituality a more individual pursuit.

Religion has a definite structure, identity and recognition as such by the society in which it resides. There are members of a religion, there are meetings within a religion, and there is some kind of a dogmatic belief system.
Spirituality is more amorphous. Spirituality points to connections between persons and nature, and often also to a higher power or deity. It does not necessarily involve rules or dogma, but instead focuses on the sensation of where the person fits into the universe and the interconnected nature of all creatures.
Spirituality crosses religious boundaries. The experience of spiritual connections are discussed in the literature of most of the world's religions. I have heard it said that spirituality is the cup that can contain a religion, and the beverage poured into it represents the religion itself.

For me religion is a set of doctrine, dogma and rituals. Such as: Catholic, Lutheran, Calvinist, Shiite, Judism, etc. These can be Spiritual practices but it is up to the individual to make them such.
Spirituality is a faith or belief in a theology. Such as: a diest God , Triune God, Spiritual plane, etc.

Religion is man's attempt to reach out to God. Interestingly, the latin root, religo religare means to tie or bind. And surely, religions do tie people up in complicated knots!
Spirituality is more of a relationship with God. It ignores the trappings of religion, and under the best of circumstances, allows God to do the reaching out to US.

I think ...and this is just an opinion...that religion is man made traditions and beliefs that are not necessarily biblical and spirituality is between you and the God you worship all frills aside.

Religion could be defined as something that is done on a regular basis, i.e., "I read a book every night before bed religiously"
Spirituality is a feeling...an emotion. When you are devoted to something and you're consumed in it, then you are spiritually involved. i.e., a Christian, Catholic, Muslim, etc

Saved the best one for last?
Religion is a game played by man to man himself equal to God by imposing rules that no one can live up to. This is so they can keep out those that are not wanted and allow in only those that fit in to their own mind set. You can find this in any church on Sunday morning and it really isn't that hard to see. You have seen them, the Bertha better than you, or the Holier than thou, and the Well dressed much higher than you. But if you look deep and at their actions they are religious on the outside but are evil with in their hearts. Yea they show up but do they measure up to the teachings of Jesus. NO! They play a game so that others can see them and yet they don't understand that you can see right through them.
When you are looking to things of the spirit that is by far not something seen by the eyes of man. Faith is the belief in things not seen, and understanding of thing not understood. It is silliness to those who do not believe and hard to explain. Being faith full is more than putting on nice looking clothes and showing up for church. It is a way of life and walk not understood. It is about putting others before yourself and treating others in a manner in which you would like to be treated yourself. Its about being humble before men and not drawing attention to yourself. Its about believing when everything tells you not to.
The things of the spirit draw you towards a Holy God, quietly, peacefully, respectfully, humbly. Not doing for show. It is about living the model that Jesus gave as best you can. Its about compassion (concerned passion or concerned love) for others.
Its deep in your soul and part of what you are. It's not easy but it is worth while. It is real and it is personal.

Religion is traditional, man-made concepts of who God is and not the truth. As people believe in religion was formed by men in Jesus' name while ignoring the deeper truths Jesus lived and preached.
