It just seems hypocritical for the pope to try and interfere with gods plan if god wants someone to shoot him in the face. Just like taking birth control.

Where exactly did you learn of this plain and simple ungodly man named Jesus that over 25 of you just said you believed in? Was it word of mouth? Did you see his birth and or death certificate? Or are you believing in blind faith he existed? How can you PROVE he existed? Where is the scientific documentation?

Do you think they might change their minds if you gave them a chance to talk to you, get to know you personally and up close? No middlemen, no books to get in the way, just a nice little chat, face to face.

If God loves all of us so much, why didn't He write rules like that?

I am fascinated by numerology, and it's accuracy is undeniable much of the time. I grew up in a super strict home, my dad often said: "Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft... and you KNOW what they did to witches..."

Surprisingly enough, I remain in the Christian Church anyway! I believe in God, and Christ, the Trinity, etc. but wonder if my interest in numerology is considered a problem (by anyone but those who use religion/Christianity as a weapon against others, which in my book, is not cool).

"Kabhi Lakshmi Banke, Kabhi Sharda Banke, Tum Aadi O Maa Jagadambe."
It has the same tune as "Kabhi Ram Banke, Kabhi Shyam Banke, Chale Aana Prabhujee Chale Aana."
My mom wants to learn the song to sing it in our temple for Diwali. I've tried google but no luck.
If you know a website please recommend it also.
Please don't give comments about Jesus or accepting another religion. Yes, I do believe in Jesus, Allah and Krishna, but I was born a Hindu and will die a Hindu. So peace and tolerance please.

...depend upon someone or something dying?

Son: "Dad, sorry, but I dinged the car at the parking lot."
Dad: "I'll forgive you after you sacrifice the cat."
Son: "Sure thing, Dad."

What does it say that we can forgive more easily than God?

Isn't it sad that even if someone were to post a proof of God's existence, few here would even bother to read it if it were longer than three or four paragraphs?

When God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gommorah, He had a chat with His pal Abraham. Abe thought it was a lousy idea, and asked God to reconsider, providing a number of decent people could be found in these towns. God didn't smite Abe, but instead agreed.

When God wanted to smack down the Chosen People led out of Egypt by Moses, for worshipping other gods, Moses thought this idea was really poor. He disagreed, and talked God out of it, urging God to consider His reputation. God was so impressed (and concerned) He changed His mind and witheld the holy smackdown.

So is it okay to disagree with God? Humans can teach God wisdom?

catholic church,i tell him, so we could receive God's blessings, and he is asking " so why people that are married by the catholic church still lie and cheat if they are blessed by the church" . he is being very stubborn and hardheaded, how can i make him understand that i just want our relationship to be blessed? btw,he is catholic and I was raised by Jehovah Witnesses, but the Jehovah’s wont marry us cuz we are NOT "Witnesses" and I'm actually fine with the catholic church marring me bcuz the God we believe in is the same.
I hope i made sense :-) help me with my hardheaded boyfriend!

2006-09-13 11:05:59 · 14 answers · asked by Atheist Eye Candy 5

He created the planet, the people, the rules.

With omniscience (the ability to see all events, past present and future), He knows exactly what each person will do, when they will do it, and why they do it.

He even wrote an official, perfect handbook.

If God wanted 100% success, it is in His power.

Yet God created Hell for the failures. Revelations is full of prohecy about how many people will fail, and why.

With all this power in His hands, how does God excuse His inability to achieve 100% success with humanity? Free will?

Is free will God's excuse for not getting everyone into Heaven?

Did God grant free will so as to deliberately create failures? For God knows each choice we make before we make it, right? So he knows who is going to make the wrong choices and who will fail to get to heaven before these people are born. And he allows them to be born anyway, knowing they'll go to Hell.

So God needs people to go to hell so as to fulfill his prophecy in Revelation?

Interesting quotes from the Sura: You think the Islam extremists are using these verses to justify their terrorism?

“Fight for the cause of God against those who fight against you: Kill them wherever ye find them . . . Fight therefore against them until there be no more civil discord, and the only worship be that of God.” “I will cast a dread into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads then, and strike off from them every finger-tip.” “Believers, wage war against such of the infidels as are your neighbors, and let them find you rigorous.” “And when the sacred months are passed, kill those that join other gods with God wherever ye find them; and seize them, besiege them, and lay in wait for them with every kind of ambush: but if they shall convert, and observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way, for God is Gracious.”—Sura 2:186-190, 212, 213; 8:12; 9:5, 124; 47:4, Rodwell.
