I really do pray when I say I am going to.
But I have stopped saying it because it can sound very condecending. I also have stopped saying God bless you out loud to those who may be offended. I still bless them silently.
=)

I don't know about the people here but I have just started a prayer book because honestly I may have every intention of praying for someone and just forget I have a lot to say to God at the end of the day and unless I take notes someone always gets left out. Also I don't offer to pray for every one not that I don't care I just don't have alot of time on my hands.

I pray sincerely for you. Sometimes there are so many people I pray for I lump a group of people together like "The people I talk to on yahoo" and ask God for intervention that way.... But I do pray for people when I tell them I will

It probably is thrown around a lot, just like when someone says How are you? They really don't want to know all the details, it's just something they say and they really just want to here a one word reply-"fine".

I take prayer seriously, Jesus laid his life down for us to have the priviledge to do so. When I say it, I do it. My prayers can be quite lengthy because they're are so many people that need a prayer including myself! It's quite rewarding to see or have your own prayers answered or God-given strength to endure whatever trials one is going through. If you're not going to God out of geniune love for others than he's not listening. I think it's quite rude / disrespectful to say you're going to do anything and then not follow through.

I do pray for them if I say I am going to. I pray for people when I hear about a bad car wreck or if I know someone is sick. I do a lot of prayer or meditation when I am driving in my car. I do this because I do believe that God hears me when I call on his name.

Well, it depends on the person, sadly. Unfortunately it has come to be synonymous with sympathy and that they do care. Many people when they say it mean it in that way. Very rarely have I run into anyone that meant it to be condescending.

Personally I do pray for them, well it depends on the situation,
If you think that they honestly do need to be prayed for, do so :)

Well I can only speak for myself, but yes, if I say I will pray for someone then I will!

I think it is really uncomfortable to pray for a person via e-mail.
