I think that the biblical account of the nature of God, on its face is misleading of his true nature. I think it was revelation given to humans who were spiritually young and who needed structure (combined with the fact that humans interpreted what was told to them through the only lens they had... their own experiential one). The overall story of the bible is a story of love. It is framed in a way we can relate to...as parent and child relationship.
If I were God, I would love all my children the same...Gandhi as much but not more than Adolf. Shocking? I don't think so. This is how I love my own. They are individuals. They each possess strengths and weakness. They are each of immeasureable value to me. I would give neither one up as a lost cause. I would use the strengths of one to help me to teach the others their weaknesses. I would set up situations that led Adolf, Osama, (and ordinary goof -offs such this "Seeker" person) to eventually (remember time is no object for God)understand that their (our) deepest heart's desire is Love and that all other actions are frustrating the obtaining of our heart's deepest desire. And I would never ever give up. Ever! No eternal hell! Eventually all my children and myself would be together. Bliss forever!!!
As a collective humanity, we understand love better now than we did thousands of years ago, and I venture to say, less well than we will understand it thousands of years from now. We need to interpret God in light of what we understand rather than holding ourselves back from gaining the Love we seek. God gave us these brains and hearts to use them. He gave us one another, with our differing perspectives to light the way for one another. They are God-given tools to show us who he is. No need to fear a Loving God. It sets you free in ways you deeply yearn for.

You really need to understand that salvation is by the grace of God through faith and it is not done by works. There is no other way to get to heaven and that includes Gandhi, Buddha, Socrates along with Adolf Hitler and Mother Teresa and the Pope and everyone else in the history of this world including me and you. What they have done makes no difference. Read the 10th chapter of Romans.
"...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

Who says Hitler merits to circulate to Heaven? The few verses you have taken out of context? Adolf Htiler wasn't even Catholic. Oh, particular he reported he became a Catholic and proclaimed His 'love' for Jesus, yet he additionally claimed he became an atheist and favorite a great deal the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche, who by ability of how wrote various books asserting how "God is ineffective". in actual actuality, Hitler did not have a faith; he became too insane and mentally volatile to have the skill to totally be a factor of one faith or yet another. and because you're taking those verses out of their context, maximum Christians don't have faith that one and all you should do is confess Jesus via fact the Lord and you'd be stored. via fact do you quite have faith you are going to circulate to Heaven if, after that, you alter right into a serial killer? "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
God's original plan was that we would be able to talk with Him face to face. That's why He created the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were able to enjoy fellowship with God as He walked around the garden. Then sin entered the world and that fellowship was broken since Adam and Eve chose to violate the only rule. Since sin started abounding He gave us the law and a sacrifical system where we could be forgiven of our sins. Well, people still couldn't live under the law, so God sent His Son to be the ultimate sacrifice. The pure, blameless, spotless Lamb, Jesus.
All that is left to be done is for people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior to be forgiven of their sins to go to heaven,. where the fellowship with God will be restored to where it once was in the Garden of Eden.
Also, when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He will send you a helper, the Holy Spirit. He will help you in your spiritual journey and, since He is God as a part of the Trinity, there is no middleman.

First of all, there's no Hellfire. Ecle 9:5,10
Second, we can't read a persons heart like God can, so we can't really say. When God does judge, he will go according to a persons heart. Some may appear wicked, but we don't really know, only God does. Also punnishment for those who willingly break Gods laws is everlasting death. Remember, he told Adam and Eve that they would turn back to the dust, not burn forever. If anyone needed punished, they did, because of their sin, they passed sin down to us, and that's why we die

No one is going to hell. Hitler taught as many lessons to this world as some of the great saints. His methods sucked but how many learned compassion and sympathy from all that drama. Even today our children are taught about that time and all that went on and they feel how wrong it is to treat others that way and they learn tolerance. We all are equal in the end. Jesus and Hitler are equal in the end. We are here to learn and grow. Sometimes you learn through controversy and hardship. Spread love and light up the world. there is no reward or punishment after this life. Just lessons learned and spiritual growth achieved.

I don't believe that God wants anyone to be separated from Him (ie go to hell). I also believe that people have charge of their own minds and if Gandhi, Buddha, Socrates,Hilter, or anybody else refuse to accept the salvation of their creator, why should their creator deny them their wishes?

If I were the god re-created by the corrupt Christian church to empower it to gain absolute control over men's souls (including the souls of kings who would kiss the papacy's derriere in terror of being excommunicated and sent to eternal damnation), then yes, I would be sending everybody to hell who didn't bow to the churches that created me.
And I use the words create and recreate because the Christian god is not the same as the Jewish god. Judaism teaches that there is no hell, which didn't stop the church from inventing one as a terrorist tactic -- one that's still used today, by Protestants even more than Catholics.

God doesn't want to send anyone to hell.
As long as you accept Jesus into your heart and repent your sins, you do get to go to Heaven. It's the wicked that annoy Him. Sin (all sin) is an abomination to God. He is a Holy and righteous God. He loves all us and He can't stand sin.
Hell was only made big enough to accept Satan and 1/3 of the fallen angels that followed him.
Matthew 7:13 [ The Narrow Gate ] "You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell [ Greek The way that leads to destruction.] is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way.
Now so many are dying to get in...hell has expanded it's gates.
May everyone find the grace of the living God and His Son Jesus!
