If i was an athiest I would think what is the point of life and the universe?
Who cares if we die because we die anyway why would it matter if it was today or tommorow?
Life would feel so pointless and mechanical and just a means to it's own ends. We would just be biological machines that just do stuff that has no significance.
I would be stuck on this rock in space and the universe wouldn't care one way or the other.
Life would be...... so what! I die and I ain't going know I even ever existed be like it never happened.
Other people may benefit but life on Earth and universe will come to an end one day in the athiest view of demise and it won't matter squat what we did it will all be gone.

In this culture, "God" automatically means Yahweh. But I say Yahweh isn't God-- Yahweh is just a concept FOR the Supreme Being, and a lousy one at that. Yahweh is the product of a primitive Middle Eastern culture, a tribal monster-idol (that the Israelites borrowed from Midianites), and accepting that as your God-concept by default ties your thinking down to a level of 3000 years ago, to a culture not worth emulating.

We need a better God-concept than Yahweh. Just about anything else would be an improvement. How about "The Great Spirit"?

The last great towering Democrats went the way of FDR, Jack and Bobby Kennedy. Now all they have 'left' (no pun intended) are Howard and Ted...not very inspiring.

No policies, no plans, no specifics, just Liberal Far Left Wing ACLU secular ideology and Blind Bush Bashing and Blame America First rants 24-7!

Where has all the brilliance of the Democrats gone too...many think JFK & RFK took it with them..because, quite frankly, what is left is shameful...Howard and Ted..ugh

$90,000 stashed away in the good Democratic Congressman's
Freezer, men like Michael Moore portraying himself as a poor Working Stiff when he lives in a 3.5 million dollar mansion and the other great spokesperson for the DNC, Howard Dean!

What ever happened to the olde Democratic Knights of Camelot...
now it's Ted Kennedy and a dementia ridden Jimmy Carter.

It is the theory that all matter is composed of certain energies. The company has divided up that energy. It can explain the existence of God...the ability to levitate...psychic abilities...the universe etc... Seems you all would be interested in checking it out for education sake since so many of you ask such Stuuuuuupid questions (you know who you are)!
I asked a reasonable question and got nothing but a bunch of smart remarks. I don't deserve that for introducing something that is interesting. At least it doesn't target another's beliefs like most of the ignorant questions asked here for shock value and immaturity only! Bunch of teenagers!(again...you know who you are and it shows in the answers you gave). For those who gave such answers...you SUCK!

savior and prividor that looks out for your spiritual needs. You cant touch God but he can touch you, You cant see God unless you know how and were to look, You cant feel God unless you let him into your life. God is not going to make it so you dont get a parking ticket nor is he going to butt into your daily life but he just might help you to understand a critical situation or give the insight you need to pass through a troubling time in your life. Its hard to explain the gentle non invasive way that God helps us unless you can look past the obvious and see the big picture. Example: You lock your car keys in the house and cannot get into your car to drive to work. Just about the time you would have been pulling out of your driveway if you had had your keys another car comes flying past music blairing totally unaware of you. Is this blind luck or divine intervention? What if similiar situations happen to you on a regular basis is it still luck? Look past the obvious.

I believe in God too, but I am not ignorant enough to think that if I go to church every week and read my bible everyday, that I have a paved road to eternal life.....and can go around judging adn condemning. That is the Lord's job, not any man's. They think that by following what the bible says, word for word is the way to go. The bible is so contradictory anyway. I have enough intelligence to make my own decisions, and think for myself, and not try to force those beliefs onto others (lest ye be judged...). They must not realize, God didin't write the bible.....it was written by men, and often men with agendas. How is it that certain men decided to remove things from the bible, like the chapters regarding Mary....with the justification that it was too "glorifying" to women at a time when women were supposed to be slaves to their men, regardless of how the men treated them, and controlled them. Is it God that told them to do that? Not my God.

Many people use the name "God" but do not seem to refer to one God, the Creator of earth. The name "Creator of Earth" is one name we can use to pin-point the TRUE GOD.

For example, Christians are very strong in stating that their God is NOT the same god in the Qoran. And I believe they are right because one GOD CANNOT TELL A GROUP OF PEOPLE particular DATA(e.g The bible) AND TELL THE OTHER DATA that does not AGREE with the other(e.g The Qoran, Krishner etc). Surely the TRUE GOD is not a GOD of confusion FOR THE EARTH and THE UNIVERSE ARE PERFECTLY set to COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER.

How can others be sure that the God in the bible is the TRUE GOD who created all things on earth?

I don't expect atheists to answer this question since they don't believe in God...but if they do decide to answer this question, let them NOT BE RUDE PLEASE!

I am in my early 30's and death consumes my life. I always think I will get some awful disease and die. It's the dying that scares me. I know this is silly but I can't stop thinking about what happens to us when we die. I just can't imagine myself dying. There's so many issues about death and it is so final. Is anyone else afraid to die? What have you done to cope with your fear? Like I said in the title, I am so afraid to die that I cannot live. It's always on my mind.

Thanks for your help guys!

I gave a distraught pregnant teenager a bunch of coathangers yesterday because she asked me for them. I have no idea what she wanted them for but today she gave them back to me.
Some of them were bent out of shape and had bits of raw meet on them.

Do you think she was using them for a BBQ?

We have a priest staying with us and he is soooo boring. Nothing but awful protracted silences.

Fr. Ted tried to tell Fr. Jack that theis priest (Fr. Stone) was staying with us and Fr. Jack threw him out the window - thats how boring he is.

Anyway, whats the best way to get rid of a boring priest?

This is pure theology; I’m not concerned about whether you believe in such things, since I personally don’t believe. I’m basing my question on certain Bible verses, for instance the standard interpretation of John 3:16, and the Christian assertion that Jesus offered a new covenant. What would happen if Satan accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior? Please try to answer the question and not avoid it with statements like “Satan would never do that”, etc.

mine is kind of silly, but here goes. I was at my ex-boyfriend's house hanging out with him and his family (all strong Christians by the way). I got a migraine and couldn't even move. His parents placed their hands on me and said a prayer. At the time I thought it was weird they would do that, but I got this strange sensation and just a couple minutes later it was GONE. I wonder sometimes if it was nothing, or can prayer really work like that?

Jesus said: The meek would inherit the earth.
He was quoting Psalms 37:9,10,11 So it still should be relevant today
