Don't worry about it..
You can't resolve the bible with science.
You either have faith or you do not...
Intellectually you know that the stars are not going to fall
on the earth so the bible must have meant something else, that
is how the faithful do it...

I will try to answer your question. You must be be refferring to Rev. 6:13, But let me also bring in Rev. 8:10, Rev. 6:12-13 In verse 12 we see the 6th seal being opened, this 6th seal has to do with the great tribulation in front of us, when the great tribulation takes place, Christ BRIDE will be in heaven at the marriage supper, now verse 13 has to deal with the end of the great triblation where God will shake this planet as it has never been shaken before, will are the stars fall, NO, It is true that some metorites will fall, We have to finish reading that chapter, in verse 17: For the great day of his wrath is come, who shall be able to stand, this is dealing with the judgement of God upon this earth, to even in Rev. 8:10, speaking of the 3rd angel sounding, we have to realize that these 7 angels & seven trumpets are for Israel time when they shall flee into the wildernes went the great tribulation is here & at the very closing of the great tribulation. No all the stars won't fall, some will, But this is the great judgement from God upon this ungodly world, this is where the anti-christ will be judged, even until men will cry for the rocks & mountains to fall on them to hide themselves from the judgement of God. So NO, every star will not fall, but enough stars will to bring about Judgement.. I hope this helps you some. there is not too many people that won't go into Revelation to study, they say It can not be understood, YEs it can be, It is a love letter from God to his Bride. I am not afraid to go into Revelation, I have study it for 36 yrs. And our church teaches alot on Revelation.

Please listen carefully and read the entire response. ALL the prophecies of the New Testament (including what is in the Book of Revelation) have already come to pass. Revelation is NOT a blue-print of the future and was NOT written for the Twentieth and Twenty-first Century Christians.

The author of Revelation didn't care about what was going to happen in the Twenty-first Century. He wasn't thinking that far ahead. Christians had their own problems back then, and THAT is what he wrote about. Remember, they didn't even expect the 'world' to last this long!

Revelation was written for First and Second Century Christians as 'resistance-literature.' It is Apocalyptic literature which uses highly symbolic language to arrive at a revelation. When he writes: "...and the stars will fall from the sky..." he does not literally mean the stars, as we know them. He is talking about the leaders of the early Christian Church. Many did 'fall' rather than be martyred by the enemies of the Church. What he means is that Church leaders--stars, would apostate (renounce Christ) rather than be tortured and murdered.

Just one more example from Revelation: "The moon will turn to blood..." "The moon" refers to the Church, which reflects the Truth of Christ who is the Light of the world. The Church would be persecuted so severely that it would shed blood. This refers to the blood of the martyrs. Remember, Christians were being used as lion fodder for the entertainment of the pagan ruling class at that time.

I hope this explaination brings you some peace of mind. If you don't believe my answer, please run by your Parish Priest.

Best,

H

I'm Catholic also, but I wonder about your question. Who says that stars can not fall from the sky to earth? Do you know what the end of time will actually be like? Has God provided you with answers He's provided to no-one else? Please share. Black holes swallow up thousands of millions of stars, so who is to say that this may be what John was speaking about. In order to read Revelation, you really need a good study class. It's a difficult book to read without some guidance. A lot of what is in there is actually dealing with the time of Nero and his persecution of the new Christians; however, I believe that there is also relevance to our day and age.

I assume you are asking about Revelation 6:12,13- "the stars of heaven fell to the earth as when a fig tree shaken by a high wind acasts its unripe figs". This passage represents the culmination of the catastrophic situation that that Jesus had earlier prophesied in Matt. 24:29. If you were to imagine how terrifying this event would be literally-you can apply it in a spiritual sense. It prophesies about the future when the entire world system-political systems and all of earths false religions will be destroyed. The bright shining luminaries of Satans earthly system will send forth no ray of hope. All of earths political and religious leaders will no longer be trusted due to their corruption, lying and immoral lifestyle. (Isaiah 28:14-19). God will execute judgement on "Babylon the Great"-the world empire of false religion.

The people who gathered the fragments and snips and snippets of old documents into that which is called the "Book of Revelations" did indeed NOT know squat about astronomy, and in fact a few of them actually believed that shooting stars were/are stars. However, most did realize that stars don't usually fall and therefore, in order to make their interpretation as dramatic as possible - remember, they were trying to convince and convert the world to their particular religious viewpoints - for the even less literate public at large. It was/is metaphor, as you correctly suspect.

Rev 6
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Rev 12
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

The star are angels of heaven!
a third follow Satan!
and yes they will be on this earth as it was in the time of Noah!

It means just what it says. God put the stars in the sky, what makes you think He can't let them fall? God is all powerful, He isn't some wimpy little manmade god that is powerless. He is the Creator, the one who made heaven and earth, He set the boundaries for the oceans, He knows every star by name. All that is from the Bible.
