Not in my opinion. If she does there are more tolerant, loving places she would be welcomed.

Jesus let a prostitute into his fold, so why the heck should a church kick out a lesbian? There is nothing sinful about being a lesbian and even if there were, "I have come to heal not the healthy, but the sick." NO ONE should be kicked out of a church unless they are clearly abusing another member.

I don't believe so.
Unfortunately I was raised Catholic, a religion that is very intolerant of homosexuality. For that reason, I left the church, as I have several lesbian friends who are very important people to me.
I think instead of being kicked out, she should find a church who welcomes her with open arms.

Any particular lesbian? Or lesbians in general? Did the lesbian in question do anything that would merit her being "kicked out." For example did she steal the collection money?

Bridget W,
For being a Lesbian. I wouldn't go to a church like that. Those are legalists. They aren't preaching it right. That's what they are doing. You wouldn't want to be there anyway. Get this: A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump, right? Don't contaminate yourself with their "other gospel". Which is not another.
They that are under the Law are under the curse of the Law. I'll fellowship with you if you want to worship God I'll call you sister.

Yes she's using the church as a crutch to find meaning in her life that doesn't exist. The church gives her an excuse not to go out in the world and find her TRUE self. Plus she's surrounded by intolerant morons who can only worsen herself-esteem. Get rid of her and show her what the church is really about, and let her grow as a person.

When you use the term "church", I understand it is a reference to the Christian faith; by this supposition I would guess whether it is inappropriate or not. Christ taught that certain things were unacceptable to God. Homosexuality was among these things. But Christ did not instruct or insinuate that people should judge one another. If you were "lesbian", for example, Christ would be saying essentially that the sexual orientation was wrong, but not that you should be judged by human beings; God alone is the judge. Christ spent time talking with tax collectors and the prostitute Mary Magdalene. He believed that people should be led away from "sin" by caring instruction, not by hateful, scornful condemnation. People judge because they are judgmental, and not because they are genuinely religious.

The Bible tells us that anyone actively engaging in sin must be approached by one believer, in private, and be lovingly counciled to give up that sin. If he or she refuses to listen, two people should privately council the person. If the sin is still manifest in his or her life, the entire congregation should council the person. This person should only be "kicked out" of the congregation if he or she stubbornly refuses to repent.
If a person is repentent, but occasionally slips back into sin, no, I do not believe they should be "kicked out." I believe a church is composed of many such people; in fact, the Bible tells us that anyone who says they don't sin is a liar.
Peace.

Well yes and no…..first, it’s up to God to judge that person not the people…..those that believe in the bible, does it not say “come as you are”??? If a lesbian did get kicked out of the church just for being a lesbian, then it obviously wasn’t a real church of God……BUT if this lesbian was doing things like trying to force the people to accept her and her lifestyle (basically purposely defying the bible and the church to force her right to be gay) then yes, she deserved to get kicked out……I say this only because if you don’t TRULY believe in the bible and the church, then why are you there????? Hell I don’t but you don’t see me tearing down their doors telling the church that they are wrong! You’re disrespecting what the others believe in and infringing upon their civil rights to practice their religion by trying to force them to accept something that they don’t believe in…..I’ve heard of churches out there that are gay churches, how true this is, I don’t know. But it’s wrong for anyone to try to force anyone to accept anything that they may not believe in…..SO, if she got kicked out because she admitted that she was gay, then the church was wrong, but if she went into the church trying to force her rights upon them, then she deserved to get kicked out

No she should not be kicked out of the church! Who in the Church could say: "Which of you could reprove me for a sin." If you can find one person inside the Church, including the Pastor himself without sin, then let him be the first to kick her out of the church. All of us live on Earth use the gift of enjoying sex which shall no longer be as a channel of joy whether for normal heterosexual, or for normal homosexual if we go to Heaven. They are both enjoying what shall not be of any significance in Heaven. Could one of you who put so much weight on those people, although I myself think it is a sin along with every thing mankind does, what is a normal heterosexual man practice when he sleeps with his wife? does he not let his mind fly in his own imagination to do what ever he could do for the sake of enjoying his sex with his partner. Perhaps that normal man when he had tried all possible positions that ran out of his mind would ask his wife finally to give him her back and to do what he considers his right to enjoy what ever he likes of sex with his wife, while in fact he is practicing sex in unaccepted manner. What do you call that man? Does he differ much from a homosexual whom you send to hell because of the influence of what the society and school reflected on his/her brain and inflicted inside his / her mind of that man or woman who needs nothing but a proper guidance like any normal human being!!!
