a vegetarian and an atheist were eating lunch. the atheist asks the vegetarian "what you got today?". the vegetarian replies, "i got no meat! why do you ask?". the atheist retorts, "see, that proves there is no god!"

this is just as logical as any argument the atheists uses to prove their argument

There is a lady where I work who is a christian and found out that I'm a homosexual and an atheist. She has quite literally and openly stated that she considers it her personal calling from God to try to save me. I have tried to explain to her that this is unwelcome and unprofessional, rather politely. My bosses have told me to try to blow it off because where I live, being atheist and homosexual is valid grounds for termination (it is considered to contribute to a hostile work place to be so far from the norm). A lawyer I spoke with even told me that I should do my best to ignore it since we would not win in this state (the jury would be stacked against a homosexual atheist). Is there anything more that I can do POLITELY to get her off my case? Giving in is not an option, I am as certain of my beliefs as she is of hers, I've been a Christian before and I don't see myself going back anytime in the foreseeable future.

Let me further ask you . If there is a god then who made this god. If this part of the question is answerable then who made the entity that made the first god. And so into infinity the this question revolves in its never ending circle. Is it not time we just got on with the here and now and put aside the things that we know through history and present day happenings cause death and destruction.

I prayed for a man with a very small organ. But I kept on meeting men who had huge organs and long organs too. So I prayed and prayed and prayed. I said "Lord won't u P-l-e-a-s-e send me a tiny organed man, p-l-e-a-s-e. But it did not work, he kept sending me gigantic endowed guys. So I prayed some more. Nothing. Well finally I was chatting with a long time Christian and she said that sometimes the Lord does not give us what he wants. So I thought about it, and all those gigantic masculane organs, and I just said "Thank u Lord I will accept Your decision!!!!!!!!!"

The Catholic Church has had a long standing practice of parishioners confessing their shortcomings to a priest. What is your take on this?

Is it helpful to discuss (confess) your shortcomings with (to) another human being (not necessarily a priest)? Is this something you try to practice?

What about discussing the shortcomings of other people with a friend? Is this a helpful practice?

A bonding of bedfellows or a boding of soulmates?
Where doth the Bible say two men cannot LOVE?
Why doth ye judge?

Hath I not told ye to love all?
Marriage, I say unto ye, is a pact of trust and a union of love, not a contract for babymaking!

Why doth ye not love love, but only love sex?

King James Version: Matthew 6:33. This is taken out of the Gospel of Matthew. I've read this verse, what? Like a billion or so times? I thought that I understood what Jesus was saying. Now a days, everyone has problems and situations in their lives. Big, small, doesn't matter we have them. If you're like me, the first thing you're going to ask God is, "Please God, take this problem away! The sooner the better!" Sometimes we're our own worst enemy. I am. I'm slowly beginning to understand what this verse means. It is my belief that God wants to hear our problems and issues. Big or small. It's also my honest belief that after reading Matt 6:33, that God wants all of "us" to seek His way, his will. Once we've done that, God promises to take care of the rest. Trust me, when I say that I've read this verse time after time and slowy but surely I'm beginning to understand it. Not just on an intellectual level but on a "heart" level. Comments? Thoughts?

In the original Omen film, David Warner says the following at Damien’s birthday party - “He's either the heir to the Thorn millions - or Jesus Christ himself”…

Note: As the Thorn’s baby had been killed, Damien was/is not the heir to the Thorn Millions – The above line was removed in new 2006 version.

In the new 2006 version, when Damien gets near the church he sees visions of the crucifixion and becomes terrified…

Is he experiencing past memories???

How can you have faith when you have proof? The two are total opposites. You can't have faith something exists when you have proof it does. Quit trying to say you have proof for God. If you did, you wouldn't be a believer, you would be a knower.

I mean... it really doesn't make sense to put your belief into a system where you're instantly condemned as being unclean or somehow less than everyone else...

I am seeking alternate points of view to aid me in teaching others. I have my own theories, but I find that teaching only one way is unfair, restricting, and unethical. My question is this. How does divination work? Is it external or internal? Please back up any answer with personal experience or other reference.

For clarification, I have heard the typical smoke and mirrors and Devilry responses and find it useless to my purpose unless it is backed up by personal experience or holy text reference (specific chapter, verse, section, whatever, etc.)

Any experience with any form of divination (Oneiromancy, Tarot, Ouija, black mirror, candle meditation, I Ching, Runology, etc.) will work for me. Thank you for your help in advance.

http://www.united-church.ca/marriage/resources/pdf/understanding.pdf

In the above link, the United Church of Canada, Canada's largest Protestant denomination, affirms their belief, based on Scripture, that marriages are holy and ordained by God regardless of the gender of the two individuals in question.

As Christians, they base this on the same book as other denominations use in condemning gay marriage and gay sexual activity.

My question is this: are they wrong? If you believe that they are, how can you be sure that your understanding of the Bible is superior to yours? Is it not possible that, from a Christian and Scriptural perspective, it is in fact you who is wrong?
