How can you have faith when you have proof? The two are total opposites. You can't have faith something exists when you have proof it does. Quit trying to say you have proof for God. If you did, you wouldn't be a believer, you would be a knower.

No Joe that doesn't cut it, because science has proof of how those came to be too.... and can I help it if 3 billion people are wrong? There are probably 3 billion people in the world that don't know their left from their right as well.

Outside of the bible here3, show me this evidence... the bible is a book... just because something is written down doesn't make it true. Do you believe the National Enquirer as well?

They have no proof. None.
What they laughably refer to as "proof" is nothing more than hearsay, lies and fabrications.
Some "proof"...

A Christian doesn't have faith that God exists because as you say they know He does. What a person has faith in is that Jesus died on the cross for the remission of our sins. We believe and know that God exists. Some would say they have faith He exists in the absence of proof. There are a lot of people who require no physical proof that God exists to believe in Him, but none the less the proof is there.
Looking at the definition of faith I am not sure that would be an accurate statement on your part. The definition of faith is:
1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : LOYALTY b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions
2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust
3 : something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs
A synonym to faith is belief which is defined as:
1 : a state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or thing
2 : something believed; especially : a tenet or body of tenets held by a group
3 : conviction of the truth of some statement or the reality of some being or phenomenon especially when based on examination of evidence
Note the third definition...conviction of truth of some statement or the reality of some being or phenomenon especially when based on EXAMINATION OF EVIDENCE.
So there is nothing there that says you are required to have faith or believe in something in the absence of proof or evidence. Can a person believe in God without proof? Yes of course, but it is not neccessary. God' proved proof for His existence. He has never required us to believe in Him in the absence of proof, but if you do not believe in God then you will not believe in the things of God. That goes with anything. Think of a building or a painting. When you see a building or a painting you know with out ever seeing that there must be a builder or a painter. The building and painting are proof that they exist. Same with creation, you should be able to look around at creation and know that there is a creator.
So I would disagree that faith and proof cannot co-exist.

Well I guess I am a "knower" then. Faith is knowing and believing. So you can call me a "knower" or "believer." Dosen't matter to me. But to make it simple for you, just call me a follower of God.
Look, if you don't believe, than you don't believe. Stop trying to badger those of us who do. Just live your life the way you please. Non-believers are always complaining on how we try to force feed our beliefs on them, but yet non-believers are always trying to influence us with off the wall questions and statements such as the one you just presented. There is too much going on in the world for us to be working against each other. We may not have the same beliefs, but we should respect and love each other. Wouldn't you agree?
**I'd rather believe and be wrong than to not believe and be wrong. Hope you can get that.**

You are correct of course, if there were indisputable evidence of the existence of God then faith would not be required since faith is, by Biblical New Testament definition, "the evidence of things unseen". However, even in the evidence based realm of science there is very little that is not disputed by someone. In the highly subjective realm of religion I believe it is pretty common for people to believe something (without evidence to back it up) strongly enough that to them it becomes fact... especially when it has been ingrained since childhood and without it their entire life lacks meaning. In my opinion it would suck to be that kind of person, bound by fear of the unknown to the extent that you absolutely must accept what can't be proven as fact.

thats a foolsih question, the biblical defintion of faith is this: the leaning of the entire human personality on God. it is stupid to follow anything without any form of evidence or proof that it is genuine, thats why there are false religions and cults in our world, christianity is a reasonable faith becuase it offers tangible evidence that the God of the bible is the 1 and only, and has revealed himself in His Son Jesus christ, who died and rose again. we believe based on evidence, the geographical, archeological, and prophectical precision of the bible is uncanny and cannot happen by mere chance, the bible has been outlawed, burned blasphemed yet it has endured more than 2000 years, and also the change that takes place in a believers life is unparalled. murderers changed from night to day, drug addicts set free from thier addictions.etc. the truth will make you free

Wow, you are really investing a lot of time trying to discredit 3 billion people!
If non-believers expect us to have physical proof such as photographs, videos or recordings of God...sorry, there is none.
Proof of god is intangible, other than the creating of the earth, the sun, the sky, the seas and people. That's about all that we can provide to you. Will that work?

I don't have proof...that's why I have faith. There's pretty good evidence that God exists...but evidence still isn't necessarily proof.
I have faith that China exists, too. I've seen evidence that it does...but never having been there, I can't prove it to myself. My faith is based simply on other people's word that it exists, historical and written evidence, etc.

If you need proof to believe in something then you cannot have faith. I agree. But do you need to prove there is oxygen to breathe? Faith is something you get from experience. Not from proof.

Close but no cigar.
We have faith in our salvation. Knowing that we have a place in heaven, although not there yet, is faith.
The fact that God reveals himself today is just icing on the cake.

I believe that having faith does not exclude knowledge. Jesus provided miracles and evidences to establish proof. He invited Thomas to feel the nail scars and spear wound after he rose again. Certainly God is revealed in nature and we need not lose faith because we have gained knowledge. We need only rightly discern the knowledge, because knowledge is imperfect in that it will always be incomplete. Yet in the incongruity of knowledge, truth may be known. This is faith.
1 John 4
7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son[b] into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for[c] our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

very true.
but one could argue that they have evidence to justify their belief but then it would still be called more of a evidence based theory and most definitely not faith.
personally I think blind faith (in what ever form) is the most dangerous thing to mankind
