After all, they may have asked the question, but your brain did the thinking and you came to the conclusion that there may be some doubt there. So why lash out against the person who made you think?

I'd say no; if someone asked me a question about my religion, and I wasn't sure how to answer it, I'd say, "that's a good question, let me get back to you on it." Then I'd go research it and see what I found out. The person may have had a valid point, and it might cause me to rethink the opinion I had about something.

If they are strong in their faith, as in, "blind faith" they would never have doubt. If they are not a sheep and someone asked them a question (not a hatefull question) and they started thinking more about their faith, what would be the problem? Shouldn't we always strive to know more?

In most religions it is not right to bad mouth anyone, treat them like dirt or lash out. People become afraid when their faith comes into question and they do not have the information to defend it.

If you indeed have doubts then it is not the person who asked a question who is responsible. It's you.

People lash out at others here too much - over politics, war, etc.

Most of it is not because doubts were instilled, but because the other person's opinion is repulsive.

Still no reason to be uncivil, generally.

No one can cast doubt about my belief in the Lord. I believe with all of my heart, all of my mind, and all of my soul. I get upset and irritated when people "mock" my belief in the Lord, but I do my best to maintain my emotions and not lash out at them. My life is a reflection of my belief in Jesus, so I do not want to act in a manner that disputes that. I try to treat everyone I meet with love, kindness, understanding, and compassion.

The doubts come from Satan and those that are his pawns are just the messengers. No need to lash out, just call upon Jesus Christ to show you the Truth.
